Finsfalife said:I hope JAx gives him his goddamn money...and he tears his injury prone knee up the first game....go phins
ckparrothead said:I never understand that argument. Where do you draw the line? Under that logic the Phins never would have signed Kevin Carter. Under that logic they wouldn't have even put an offer on the table for Drew Brees. Does the fact that we're offering less than a guy wants automatically make us right and them just money hungry? I don't get it.
You make choices. Do we want Lavar at the price Jacksonville offers? Or would we rather let him walk. Did we want Brees at New Orleans' price? Or would we rather let him walk.
ALL players care about money (with the exception of a few). You can't possibly build a team full of guys that don't want money cuz there aren't enough. We've offered what we offered, because we think we have an attractive enough package of external offerings that our offer is competitive with other offers that have more cash in them. Maybe we're wrong. It's far too convenient to use whether or not he signs as the best acid test of whether or not we wanted him. It isn't as easy as saying well if he chooses more money in Jacksonville he's obviously not the kind of player we want. That's just pure doo-doo.
