LB STICKER SHOCK?

The Dolphins and the agent for former Pro Bowl linebacker LaVar Arrington haven't talked about a contract since Monday, and sticker shock may be the reason.

Agent Kevin Poston said Wednesday he last spoke with the Dolphins to tell them of linebacker Julian Peterson's imminent signing with Seattle. Poston, who represents both players, believes the Peterson contract set the market at the position, so he hopes Arrington will get an a similar offer.

Peterson signed a six-year, $55 million deal that included an $11.8 million signing bonus.

''Some teams were saying they had Julian ranked No. 1 [among free agent linebackers] and LaVar ranked No. 2,'' Poston said. ``Others said LaVar was first and Peterson next.''

An NFL source said Wednesday that Miami is unlikely to reach that high a price tag to acquire Arrington, thus the lull in talks.

It doesn't look too good for us if Arrington and Poston are looking for that much money. Too bad.

lot of money for a linebacker, if our guys dont feel like hes worth it, then thats fine.

that sucks I would have liked him down here, who else is available in free agency? Or do you think Hodges is the answer at linebacker?

Thats too bad. I really like him.

Let's draft Greenway instead.

We have ok depth at LB, could be better. I think Saban will look to pick one up in the draft and see what is available after June 1st cuts. Some good players can be had during the summer.

The most I ever heard from Arrington in is time in Washingto is, he had problems with management over his contract, he was benched for being undiciplined on the field and he was dating Sarina Williams. The over spending Redskins let him go. If he comes at a decent price, fine, but do not overpay for this guy because the Seahawks gave rediculas contract for and oft injured Peterson........

i can't see cincy or jags paying him the $$ he is looking for... with that being said i think the phins still have a chance...

sounds awful expensive. I had sticker shock too when I read the article

BS
That's just tales from the agent...
NO WAY ANY NFL TEAM WILL PAY HIM THAT AMOUNT.

We should just pick up a LB in the draft and then we'll be set. Arrington would be nice but he's a luxury we can't afford, and he may not even be worth half of his sticker price with his injury and discipline issues.
