I hate to beat a dead horse but......
I really wish the phins released Fiedler or at the very least told him he was the backup. Fiedler has won all of those regular season games but what has he done lately except miss open receivers and show us how weak his arm really is. Fiedler says he wants a "fair shot" but how come Griese wasn't given a fair shot? When Griese came here, he was told flat out that he would be Jay's backup and that there was no QB controversy. As it turned out, Jay was a better fit than Brian was but my point is that we knew where the QB's stood. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, Jay wants to be "given" the opportunity to "win" the starting job.
I believe that Jay will win the starting job because Feeley will have growing pains in the system while Fiedler has been here for 4 years and has developed a relationship w/ his receivers. I don't want Feeley sitting on the bench when we've given a 2nd round pick for him. Hopefully, Jay will get the same "fair shot" that Huard got when he seemed to win the job in the pre-season only to be outdone by Fiedler's 0 TD 3 INT performance vs. New Orleans in the last week of the pre-season.
