not enough said buddy.
Our FO said we were going into this draft, and would draft the BPA...did that happen?
No, instead we reached AGAIN for a guard. A guard that "can also play tackle". Well news flash to the uninformed, but we already have a "guard that can play tackle". His name is St. Clair.
Taking a Guard because he can fill in at tackle if needed isn't a smart move, when we passed up on experienced inexpensive tackles in the FA. Randall wouldn't have cost us a high pick, and there were a slew of other linemen that can play guard as well as well as Carey..heaven forbid they "can't play tackle". Is he REALLY a viable option for an NFL tackle? I'd be surprised if he is. Like I say, we already have depth wtih versatile linemen, and passed up one hell of a DT for this guy.
I'm not agianst having Carey, not at all. But how in the hell can the FO rationalize passing up Wilfork for him? Now NE got the BPA, and we're left filling gaps that we shouldn't have fhad to fill in the first round in the first place. It would have been MUCH smarter to trade down and pick a guard in the 2nd while gaining an extra pick in the 3rd.
Why teh hell did we trade up? I mean, that's a rediculous move. If NE moves ahead, let them take him, we'll ram Wilfork down his throat next year. But so much for that idea.
I'm really tired of the FO pissing on our shoulders and telling me it's raining. BPA my ***.
