Do you guys really think Jay will be re-incarnated with the added weapons on the O line and DB? It's become kinda' hard to believe in this guy no matter who's playin with him simply cause I backed him for so long and was made a spectacle of at the hands of Jay.SUCKAAAA!!!!!!

Isn't Mark Trestman supposed to be a really good QB coach? If so, then would it not be possible that we might see an improvement in Jay?

The problem I see with Jay is that there has been no evolution in his play. He is consistently inconsistent, a known quality. So, the coaches have to mold the play calling and offensive philosophy to Fiedler's form- rather than allow Fiedler to grow and evolve in the system. Maybe they see/saw those evolving traits in Feeley- the Fiedler piece is adequate, but doesn't properly fit the puzzle.

This is a DCH rip-off, and not that good...

Ah no, FF mentioned where and whom he talked to. How is that anything like DCH?

Trust me it's not.

Oliver...

The problem with Fiedler is not him evolving in the offense. It is the fact that he simply lacks the pocket presence and the arm strength to make this offense work.

Feeley with his downfield passing ability will allow Miami to make secondaries play on their heels instead of loading up to stop Ricky Williams. This is something that Jay Fiedler has proven in two years in this system that he cannot do.

Thanks for the report. I do find the QB perspective disturbing to say the least. I have read all of the camp reports and they all describe Jay as what he has always been...inaccurate and inconsistant. Yet the coaches think this is the best he has looked? Maybe he is normally more innacurate and inconsistant. To be honest, I'm tired of talking about Jays problems...have hearing and seeing the same things/results for 4 years goping on 5, and he has already peaked for his ability. I still hold hope that AJ will get it together though. Bowens sounds like he spent his off season hooked up to a KFC iv. Sounds like the staff was smart keeping him out of drills so he didnt make his fragile knees worse than they are...hope he gets his desire back.

Well, I don't know what some of you expected. AJ Feeley wasn't going to be a master of this offense in his first few practices. No quarterback brought in would be.

The process of getting comfortable in the offense will take place, and once he gets comfortable, you will see the advantages that having AJ Feeley behind center will bring over having Jay Fiedler behind center. It was seen last year when Brian Griese took over for Jay. Griese wasn't as bad as many make out. What having him in there did was expose the offensive line and expose himself as a quarterback that does not perform well under pressure. The offensive play calling was a lot more wide open with Griese in the game though. They attempted more downfield throws. They tried to run more long developing pass plays that the offensive line wouldn't allow.

At least everyone doesn't hang on every word that is spoken by anybody from anywhere....what is this the offseason?

So-and-so said Feeley sucked? It must be true! Oh my God!!!!

Not that I have any room to talk...Here it is a beautiful day outside and I am reading this post and wondering the same thing...

WHERE IS AUGUST!!!??? Please get here!!!

Thanks for passing that along bro. I'm glad that Fiedler looks better than ever. How can any player looking "better than ever" ever be considered a bad thing??

Still, once things get settled down for A.J. and he gets comfy, I believe he'll be an upgrade to Jay. It might not happen before September, or before November, or even this year. But I believe it will happen sometime. And we will be glad for it.

I talked to a new friend of mine today who is a RABID yet objective Eagles fan (ironically his best friend is a huge Dolphins fan). I know, I know. We've all heard that one before. But it was the first time I've been able to talk to a rabid Eagles fan since we got A.J. And I was asking about A.J. Feeley before I revealed I was a Dolphins fan. So I thought I'd share. :)

Anyway, I asked him what he thought of A.J. He was like, "Dude, I love that guy. Strong arm. He is so cool under pressure." He was like (rhetorically), "Why did we trade him?? And why the hell was he behind Koy Detmer?? We should have gotten rid of Detmer instead. Detmer sucks!!"

He said that when Donovan went down in the playoffs this past year vs Carolina, they were screaming for Feeley. And when I asked him how he felt about people calling for Feeley to stay in when McNabb got healthy for the '02 playoffs, he was like, "Hell yeah man. He was hot. Led us to 5-1 down the stretch and a missed FG away from 6-0. For a young guy like him to come in like that.....etc etc". What I found interesting was that he mentioned how Eagles fans had a very high level of confidence in Feeley while he was running the ship. And I liked hearing, "He's not gonna make a lot of plays with his feet like McNabb. Nobody does. But he's so good in the pocket." He also complimented A.J. on his deep accuracy.

Anyway, I'm rambling. But I just thought it was cool talking to an Eagles fan in person about Feeley without him knowing I was a Dolfan. So I felt like I got an honest opinion without him feeling obligated to build A.J. up. Then once I told him who I rooted for, he started jabbing me.

Nice post, I do have a question though I ask every Eagles fan and have never been able to get an answer....if AJ was the one they trusted to take over instead of Koy, why did they give Koy the ball in the title game and not Feeley, I mean I understand he's the holder but if they loved AJ so much wouldn't you put your best player out there?

I'm not an Eagles fan, but I'm thinking two things. One....maybe it was loyalty that Reid felt for Detmer. Two....maybe he was keeping the option open of McNabb returning (even though he said he didn't want to put McNabb at risk....Mike Martz, take note). Also, if Feeley enters the game before the 4th quarter, Detmer cannot enter the game. And he's the holder on kicks. Just a few guesses.
