Feeley is going to be the...........

Wow after that first post I thought you had completely lost your mind, glad you came back to your senses. Feeley sucks and will only see the field if Jay, Sage and a few cheerleaders with QBing expeirence all get hurt. And even then we will only put AJ in and tell him to get out of the way b/c we are gonna direct snap it to Ricky. AJ SUCKS !!!! Get used to it. Don't worry you will be saying the same thing in a few months, just like me, a few others and his mom. But for heavens sake son, don't put your hope in Feeley, he really sucks.

Based on what?

His lack of a big name?

AJ Feeley has all the tools to be a very good quarterback in this system. He's got the pocket presence. He's got the arm strength. He's got the ability to read the field. He showed all of this in Philadelphia when he got his opportunity to play. Philadelphia's offense actually expanded when he was in the game because he doesn't break down fundamentally and start scrambling when the heat is on. Feeley had the instincts to step up and complete the downfield pass whereas McNabb will scramble out and have the entire offense break down around him.

Good post KB. Most of the Feely haters are just blindly dissing the guy without ever having seen him play. They cling to the "Well he was 3rd string" fact, but that doesnt matter anywhere near as much as they think. IMO, AJ is gonna be a good fit for our offense and can lead us deep into the playoffs.

We need a team that can play great, im afraid that solid is not competitive enough. It just one of the hundred layers that make a team.

He never said that the team didn't need to play great, just that the line and qb would need to be solid.

Very catchy headline. However, The only way I see Feeley on the field at this point is when Fiedler gets hurt.

At what point??? After the first mini-camp???? C'mon MIke u have over 1500 posts......that comment sounds like a rookie post imo.

jay is that u.......don't be shy.......we won't hurt you :D :yell: :yell: :fire:

Fielder = 4 years, average QB, One playoff game apperance, Winning record(No playoff wins)

Feeley = ?

With time I do believe Feeley will = Playoff win, Winning record, SB Run (This Year). AS the bostonbomer put it our line must be consitant and good not great.

LOL....No, I'm serious. I hope Feeley starts, and I hope he is an improvement. However, there is nothing ....and I really mean nothing that Feeley has done so far that makes me think he can beat out Jay Fiedler. The only reason I hold any hope that he can is because Rick and Company seem to feel he has some potential and could be the next young guy to step up and play well. So my hope is that he pans out, but from what he's done so far in the NFL and what he's done in our camp I don't think he's ready to unseat Jay. I hope he does, but I don't think he will.

My bet is that he will replace Jay when Jay gets injured....we'll be somewhere around 6-1 or 7-2 and Feeley will get his chance. How he does from there will determine his fate....IMO

I don't see how you can say that. Fiedler has had his time, and he has proven that he can't get the job done. If Feeley simply shows that he can complete the downfield throws, he should be the starter without question.

To keep Fiedler in at quarterback means to keep the limits on the passing game. It makes getting David Boston to work those 10-15 yard outs and those 15-18 yard comebacks meaningless, because we won't be able to throw those routes. It makes trying to get Chris Chambers in single coverage so he can race down the field meaningless, because we won't be able to throw those routes.

AJ Feeley completed 15 passes of longer than 20 yards in the 5 games he played in during the 2002 season, and according to his coaches, he had several other big pass opportunities that were simply dropped. Miami's quarterbacks last season completed 22 during the entire season. A lot of that has to do with the offensive line's inability in pass protection, but after four years of watching Jay Fiedler, it's quite obvious that he will never be able to make those stick throws.

All AJ Feeley has to show is that he can attack the field vertically, and he's the starter. He has already shown that he has the arm to do it, and the reports from mini camp state that he is already better at the downfield throws than Jay Fiedler.

If there is anything fiedler was not.........it was being a solid nfl qb that u can depend on not to make mistakes that lose games. :shakeno:

The way I see it, at this point, we have all the more reason to support Jay than we do Feeley, based on a couple of things.

Fiedler is supposedly looking better and stronger than he has in his entire NFL career.

Fiedler knows this offense like the back of his hand, because of the simple fact that he has been in Miami for 4 years.

Fiedler finally has weapons other than Ricky.

We are looking to win now! Fiedler knows the offense.

Fiedler has always stepped it up when the FO brings in QB competition.

It is not impossible for Feeley to take the job from Jay, but IMO, it's highly unlikely.

It just seems to me that you guys don't even care about... who's the most talented guy on our roster. Seems to me you guys just want to have a new face to look at. It's been this way since we signed Brian Griese in the off-season of last year.

I mean comon. We got a 3rd stringer who's never been anything more than a backup. The games he started, sure he played ok. But JUST ok. From what I have seen he is nothing special. And comparing those 5 games to Fiedler. Fiedler is still the superior QB. You guys are basicly relying on a miracle. You're hopeing for another Brady, or another Delhomme. But it's unlikely. And until I see something from Feeley, I will stand behind Fiedler. The guy who has gave it everything he has every season for this franchise.

But no... Jays not a solid QB, he throws away games in the 4th quarter. Yeah well, so do the best of em. He has also won big games for this team. But nobody cares about that, because we've been out of the playoffs for 2 years. So lets all jump on the blame Fiedler bandwagon.

It's amazing how easily you "fans" jump on the bandwagons of any new face qb. First Brian Griese, now a nobody like A.J. Feeley(as far as any of us know). And at the same time, bash our starter of 4 years, who has brought plenty of heart and passion to Dolphins football. Sorry I don't buy it. I support Jay as the best QB on our roster, and as our starter, until the F.O. gets serious about upgrading the QB position, and brings in some real talent.

Fiedler has always stepped it up when the FO brings in QB competition.

Not to nit pick but Feidler has been in this offense for two years and now has to learn a variation of the same offense. Same terminoligy different philosophy. Experiance and knowledge Jay still has the edge over AJ, but AJ has the physical edge and when he learns the offense the edge becomes AJ's.

As far as better weapons, that is IF Boston loses the weight in TC and plays at a high level. And IF the new O-line gels and Smith improves, Mckinney plays well at center, Carey can have a solid rookie season and the line depth can contrbute.

Feidler stepped it up alright, against Lucas, Griese and Sage R. Not exactly stiff compitition, and was injured most of preseason and still got the job over Huard. Jay always steps it up in QB school, TC and preseason. He needs to do it more consistantly in the regular season and stay injury free.

I don't mind seeing AJ struggle, I expected it, he has to learn the system and players. I expected Jay to look better, hell he should after two years in this system and longer with the players. In fact it makes me feel that the QB position is in decent shape, Jay can hold down the fort until AJ is ready to take over, if he ever is at all, but if he isn't at least Jay has improved some.

There are still alot of "ifs" on offense but the keys are the O-line and Boston, if they don't perform it won't matter who's pulling the trigger, they'll struggle.

Jay does have the edge....right now....lets wait until AJ fails before judging the man.

AJ has the tools to be a 'solid' QB, he also has the weapons in the skill positions on offense Ricky, Konrad, Chambers, Boston(when he gets his act together), McMichael, Lee (i include donald 'coz i think he is gna make an impact this year. he is one of the best blocking tight ends in the league and has shown his receiving abilities).

The oline should be better. I really like our tackle tandem (smith and carey) - they are young and athletic. James and McKinney should be able to lead the line. Hopefully we can plug the hole at RG.

But I'm not convinced that AJ will even get the chance to start this year because he can't beat out Jay.

IMO, AJ has to take his chance when JAy goes down (lets face it he always does).

Btw Fiedler is almost always "Solid" Feeley just can't beat Fiedler, I'm sorry. We wasted a 2nd rd pick on a back-up.

We wasted years starting a backup.
