Hey there, Brett. Not sure if this is has been brought up before, but I would be interested to hear any thoughts you might have as to what kind of pressure/spotlight is on the agent for the number 1 overall pick in the draft. Just curious if there is a point where the agent's motives in a career-defining moment like that ever become significant factors unto themselves in negotiating the player's initial deal.
Whoever represents the #1 overall pick in the draft is sort of that year's "king of the mountain". The entire rookie salary structure begins with the contract that agent negotiates. If it's bad, every player all the way down to the last guy drafted feels the ripple effect. Also, when you're at the top you always have everybody beneath you going after you.
