When is the last time you ever heard of a 6'3 250 pound football player dialing up 911 on his wife....after a slap across the face...? And this is a very pettite 21 year old woman. This is an absolute joke...I saw Drew last night....and he is now aware that any thoughts this year of extending Mcmichaels contract are virtually now....non-existent. This situation could of and should of...of course been handled within the Mcmichael household. For Randy...calling 911 himself...this was really a cardinal type of error. This is going to be a Derrick Rogers situation all over again....and you know when ROGERS came back to the team after the incident....the players and coaching staff...knew that he was distracted...and his play also showed that. The media now is going to be all over this situation throughout training camp...and with the offense not even on the same page already...and with RANDY a huge part of it....this situation is now playing out for the unknown. This is the type of behavior that the DOlphins really do not condone...zero tolerence policy on domestic abuse....and they already have Security Director STU WEINSTEIN all over the police reports...as his job with the DOlphins....is to follow up on all of this...get the reports...and keep the NFL Security offices up to date on the matter at hand. Obviously....if the state Attorneys office files charges....there is going to be a very dark cloud over RANDY....and a suspension from the league office is sure to follow. Drew is going to meet with this attorney--SWICKLE and RANDY tommorrow....and you can bet the ranch and the outpost....that there is going to be some major down-playing spin control on this matter...but the bottom line is that BOTH spouses have been charged....meaning that there was credible evidence that Randy was hit pretty hard....so what does he do....he hits her back...and then he is still coherent enough to pick up the phone...dial 911 and cry for help. All the coaching and warning in the world on domestic violence....and even Drew or any agent now goes over and over the dangers of domestic disputes getting out of hand...and the one phrase that they all tell there clients....NEVER STRIKE A WOMAN....no matter what the dispute is...no matter what happens....NEVER DO IT. And our stating TE....the one who wants more money? What does he end up doing? He just struck himself out of any contract extension....he may end up doing time...and at the very least...he is looking at a league suspension. This situation will linger on well past training camp...that you can be assured of...and now the coaches have to be really shaking there heads on the what if situations---especially if RANDY is consumed by this. And now...how will he be looked at now? By the players and the coaches? Do they support him? Do they look the other way? Wanny was teed off on this...and now what does he do....does he look at more at TES JOHN JONES and DONALD LEE...does he give them more of a look..now...if you are the offensive coaches.....what are you thinking about this guy? This is all your going to be reading about for the next few days....get used to the spin....because its coming and Drew is hoping that both the Mcmichaels will come out tommorrow or at this point...today....and tell the world that they are both sorry...and that they would like to begin counseling....that they will work this out. Thats the only negotiation Drew will be discussing with Mcmichael....and of course....the other attorney. As the WORLD....check that....AS THE DOLPHINS TURN WILL CONTINUE after these local messeges....

WOW! I have never seen a dead horse get beat up this bad in years :shakeno: . We have members wanting to cut RM, send him to jail for life, and probably some worse things. With a previous thread with well over 200 posts  I ask everyone to REMEMBER what you learned (or ignored) in those days known as school (thats when we were supposed to get an education), remember that statement "innocent until proven guilty"!
Did so many forget that everyone is innocent until that point, I think it's called the "American" way. I've read way too many comments that already have the man convicted and locked up it makes me sick :yell: . Nothing personnal to anyone, but before you pass judgement on someone else, look real hard in the mirror, because your not the perfect person you are pretending to be. Lets let the judicial system do what it's designed to do, get the FACTS and make a decision whether or not someone is guilty or NOT guilty. This is the first and last comment I will make on this subject. It's not worthy of any further discussion.

I'm with you man. But obviously some of us must know he's guilty or something!? I don't know how else to explain some of the final determinations some are making, they must know more than we do. I know they must have been there. No wait...

Oliver...

I haven't heard of any prior disciplinary problems, so I doubt anything will happen. He'll be placed on probation and the NFL may suspend him a game

Quite seriously, have you ever had a GF / wife attack you physically? When it all comes out in the wash, it may be that he did the most level headed thing he could have done in the circumstances. You seem to suggest he "could have handled it at home". Well, an anger-crazed woman, maybe even drunk, can't be reasoned with. If he were to push her off of him, repeatedly, he's likely to be accused of wife beating (which I'm beginning to suspect may be at the root of this incident, in light of the fact that she was charged and that HE called 911). There was likely more than a slap across the face and probably a history of such conduct by the woman

Who knows why he called 911? Were you in the room? Didn't think so. This post makes it sound like McMikes career with Miami is over. End up doing time? Give me a break. And as for comparing McMike to Rogers, two totally different situations and people. For one, Rogers wasn't that good. That's why he is gone, not because of any distractions. It's not a good situation, but nobody was badly hurt and all parties can move on. I predict this will blow over, and hopefully McMike can get things in order.

The dude was drunk. I don't know of any drunk who is able to think straight. I'm surprised he dialed 911 correctly. He was probably trying to dial 411 for a pizza phone number.

DCH, next time you see Drew, tell him that at least McMike had a reason to think that way. What's drews excuse?

:shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: no matter what don't hit the lady she can be screaming slapping you around and the whole nine.. get up and leave the house....... let her calm down... discuss the issue in the morning when all of the anger is clear...

man the Fins are having a rough OFF SEASON.....

DCH seems to be posting the worst case scenario. Please remember that this is his first incident. He won't catch that much hell on a first offense. If anything he will get some slack for actually dialing 911 because it shows that he was attempting to diffuse the situation.

RM and his wife simply need counseling. This entire incident can make a marriage stronger only if they both learn from it and realize that they both will benefit from a mutual agreement to settle their differences by communicating and discussing them in a respectful manner.

I agree, he was struck first. and he claims he only pushed her. If that is true, and it sounds like she was more abusive than he. She gets a lighter deal becuase she is a woman. thats just how the law is. It sounds like she is distrought the whole thing happend. If she does not press charges (and why would she when she is charged too? only if he cheated on her and she wants a divorce is all i can think of) then this is moot. the league will react to what the judicial has to say. This is not like Derrick Rogers becuase one: RM called 911 showing that he took appropriate action. Doesnt matter what anyone thinks how stupid that is, HE TOOK ACTION! She struck first which is battery and depending on florida law, they may excuse the push as a form of retaliation of defense. But if she doesnt prosecute, then they go home and seek counceling. Im sure RM is waking up to the fact that his career could be damaged. and i mean could, becuase this isnt as bad as it was first pronounced.

Let me add something here cus i am taking business law and i have stuff right in front of me here on assault and battery:

Here goes: first off, Randy is the plaintiff here and not the defendant. She hit him, that is Assault and Battery. key here is the defendant INTENTIONALLY MAKES CONTACT.

Defenses to Assault and Battery
Consent- If an individual consents to an A/B, there is generally no liability for the harm done.
Self defense- If an individual commits A/B while defending himself, he can claim self defense
DEfense of others- if an idividual who commits A/B based on reasonable belief that someone is being injured, he can claim defense of others (she was pregnant)
DEfense of property- reasonable force can be used in protecting one's home, however substantial bodily harm or death is generally not allowed.

So as you see, it is more his wife that is under fire here more than randy. Randy simply came home drunk and she took out her frustration by hitting him and i imagine more than once. Im sure randy was covering up until he pushed her (this is my imagination of how things transpired). He realized the situation he was in and that he could be in trouble so he calls 911 to make it record that he called for help (really pretty damn smart if you ask me being who he is).
Now if something happens to that baby then RM would be in deep doo doo. But if all he did was push her in self defense and called 911, then she is the one who lossed her cool and commited the battery, not RM. And it sounded to me like she was hesitant in saying that he actually hit her instead of just pushing her. A good lawyer would punch holes in that all day and i am sure she will come to her senses and realise she went off and overboard simply cus he came home drunk. I wonder if Claire ever did that to Dan when he came home from a Druer's binge?

Yeah, but if it turns into a "he says X, she says Y" thing, if both press charges, it has to be sorted out by a jury. That's why I'm thinking the best thing in that situation that he could have done would have been to call 911 or just leave the damned house. But who knows, she could have been threatening to do some crazy crap if he left the house so he had to stay.

I'm with you though, I think it's likely neither presses charges against the other.
