Best Dolphins pickup this year

I would probably have to say Jeno James...........But every year we get all excited about the players we got and how great they will make the team but it always turns out to be a flop. Maybe this year.........again

David Boston for all the reasons already cited. I'm very excited about this roster on paper and it looks like O-Guns close to a deal. We've improved the offense dramatically, we've added quality to a great defense and our special teams will be dominant for the first time in a while. But Boston changes the way defenses play us which opens up everything. I'm rooting hard for Feeley to be the man. Coach Trestman has to work his magic and IMO A.J. will be ready by opening day and thats all that counts.

I don't know. We gave up a number 1 draft pick.

And he gave us 3 Super Bowl appearences, 2 championships, and the league's only undefeated season within 4 years. Oh, and we went 10-4 in Shula's first season. The year before, we were 3-10-1. :)

Damn, Shula was the MAN!!

its close between Jeno and Boston but I have to give the nod to James. He is already the vocal leader of the oline that is returning one second year player.

We'll never know until the end of the season. Ask this question again after the season is over and see what everyone says.

The great thing about Jeno James is he was about half the price of Damian Woody, yet brings more leadership to the table and his ability is good. People screamed bloody murder when we lost out on Woody but we got ourselves a guy that can play guard almost as good and be a leader on the line.

Obviuosley Boston COULD be..simply because at his best he is a top 5 wr in the NFL...but you never know how things might play out....what if A.J is the next Delhomme or Garcia??? I think acqusition wise we did very well this offseason.

I've said it before our best addition was by subtraction...getting ride of 4/5 of the oline and cats like Mr. Softee (Griese) and Marion was slowing down despite the pro bowls.

But I agree with most cats that Boston is the best addition, although many are good. Boston has the greatest potential to help this team score points and maintain drives and converting 3rd downs. He opens the field up for Ricky, Chambers and McMichaels. Puts less pressure on either QB because he's the type of guy that can take a 10yd curl, quick slant, or WR screen to the house! Physical and intimidating on short stuff.

All in all, Spielman has done a good job at filling need positions and depth. They aren't all namebrand guys that we desire, but they are all upgrade to what we had prior.

Oh yeah, like the other guys says the Sullivan and Trestman were great additions. New ideas and more discipline combined with expertise in the areas we need improvement on. Sullivan is the insurance we need for Boston to stay focussed. And Trestman is the QB guru than can potentially get Fielder to play smarter/consistent or help AJ flourish as a new QB. Plus, if we fire Wanny by week 4 we have two potential head coaches at our disposal and maybe for the better of the team.
