OGUN deal almost signed?

I like Lee, and think he could start. He showed some skills and it's not like McMichael is Shockey or Winslow. We would be fine if we can't resign him as long as we keep Lee.

Thats true. Its not as if TE is the end-all be-all of importance in offenses traditionally.

Players that could potentially be released next year(or retire) freeing up cap space for CC,McMike and AO.

Sam Madison,Junior Seau,Tim Bowens,Jay Fiedler, and then any other busts that appear. Itll be hard as hell, but all 3 COULD be signed

I am sorry but i am probably in the minority when i say I dont want ogun on this team. here is a guy that had ONE decent season acrosss from a perenial probowler(taylor) and now he wants HOW MUCH? This guy ought to be gratefull a team like us took him in for TWO years! while he did nothing!then he has a mediocre year and last year a good year.so for that one year he gets kearse type money?NO friggin way!I happen to think he is over rated...and if he is as good a kearse why didnt teams jump on him ? Exactly! not to mention i think we have more young DE's who can fill the spot. And as far as him getting money that chambers should get... well chambers better have a hell of a year for him to even rank worth resigning! hes good ... but still not living up to his "potential " that i hear about every year...but rarely see. :shakeno:

Huh??

Now this is the kind of crap that I just don't understand. You go to great lengths to try and prove your point. :shakeno:
I'd really.....really really really like to know in your opinion WTF is the difference between a good year and a great one for a defensive end.
IMO you lost all credibility in your attempt to water down OGUN's accomplishments as reasons why he isn't worth "Kearse type money".

I think he is better than if not on par with Kearse's skills.

Because in addition to the huge contract he's asking for, Miami wouldn't budge from their demand of a 1st and 3rd round draft pick. That's why.

The Bears admitted that they would have given up the picks for him. But the big contract in addition to them was too much for them.

I think that is the whole point of the Miami FO. The market for a UFA and RFA are two different things. That is one thing that Drew Rosenbutt and Ogun have to realize. If they want the UFA $$$ than Ogun has to play the year for the one-year tender price. Otherwise they have to lower their demands.

Speaking of Surtain he's another one due a contract extension, and his is gonna have ot be big too.

it already is big.

As far as McMike I'd like to see less hot dog and more performance. I like his fire and confidence but I've seen him fumble the ball away and have penalties called on him that hurt the team. He's a very talented tight end with a bright upside and I think our new Coaches on the offensive side of the ball are going to get alot out of him this year. He's very young, a future star and we'd be foolish to ever let the kid go. Let's hope that the States Attorney decides not to file on his case. Donald Lee is a great backup but IMO McMikes the man at tight end.

Maybe Chambers will be more of a team player and play to win as opposed to playing for the top dollar contract

Boys Mcmike has just been charged with aggravated battery which carries a max 15 years.
Lee should get a good look for sure

Well I know that these have been posted before, so I apologize for doing it again...

AO stats- 2 yrs (avg/yr)
54.5 tot tkls, 12.75 sks, 2.5 frcd fmbls, 4 pass defnd...

JK stats- 4 yrs (avg/yr)... *did not use 2002 stats...
47 tot tkls, 11.3 sks, 4.7 frcd fmbls, 4.5 pass defnd...

KBG stats- 3 yrs (avg/yr)
39 tot tkls, 11.8 sks, 3 frcd fmbls, 2.3 pass defnd...

JT stats- 7 yrs (avg/yr)
56.5 tot tkls, 10.2 sks, 3 frcd fmbls, 5.8 pass defnd...

I know that there has been the excused that AO is a product of JT, and as of now he might be. Now, AO was going to be a high draft pick (1st round)coming out of college before he blew his knee out. He had the skills and talent in college, and he definelty is getting healthier. Last season showed it, and with JT on the other side, they will both have their ways with opposing linemen...

Bottom line, now the question is will our FO be willing to pay top DE sallaries to both players?

Maybe after the cheerleading McMicheal did last year with the cheerleaders we can put him on the cheerleaders payroll next year and they wont count it agaist the team cap !!!!!!! LOL
