New Dolphins center Daniel Kilgore was rated 23rd among all centers by PFF last season. Pouncey, who is being released, was rated 27th. Kilgore has started 39 of his last 41 appearances.

Dolphins acquire center Daniel Kilgore and a 2018 seventh-round pick (227th overall) from San Francisco in exchange for a 2018 seventh-round pick (223rd overall).

Rated higher. Cheaper. Better locker room leader. Moved back 4 spots in 7th round. This is good.

Will the Dolphins OL unit be better on the field with these addtions? Who knows.

But I am curious about the people that jumped ship on the first day of the FA period. You know following Landry is gone doom and gloom.

Do they stick around and lurk? Do they change their minds with a perceived good move in the FA period? How exactly does that roller-coaster position work?

He has been there for 8 years. Was a backup on the good lines/teams and a starter on the poor lines/teams.

This is no savior, but to get a veteran on short notice for little or nothing seems decent.

I was not a fan of just rolling with Larsen/Brendal. Keeps our depth solid now.

Exactly my thoughts...

Im shocked how fast this happened. Pouncey probably hasnt even reached the parking lot yet.

Agreed seems like depth. I've read 2 reports saying he makes a lot of mental mistakes on the field.

He had a broken leg in 2014, but came back strong. Looks like he was just expendable with the Center that the 49ers just signed away from the Giants.

He's the center unless someone beats him. Started 39 of his last 41 games and was a leader. SF got Richburg so they didn't need him

Ozzy rules!!
