Dolphins Believe They Have The Ammo To Move Into The Draft's Top Six. But Will They?

Agreed. What are the odds 4 QBs just happen to be 4 of the top 6 (a number I picked out of the air) players? I think this has more to do with the focus on QBs and less to do with actual talent.

And also the uniqueness of this year's prospect's. It's not often the 3rd or 4th guy make fans salivate. I get why someone would like each of Darnold, Rosen, Allen and Mayfield. If you gave me anyone of them, free of draft pick investment, I would take any of them in a heart beat.

Same for Lamar Jackson, Mason Rudolph and Kyle Lauletta.

Asking me to pass on selecting Minkah Fitzptrick, Denzel Ward, Tremaine Edmunds or Roquan Smith in the first round, Billy Price, Dallas Goedert, Mike Gesicki in the 2nd, so I can draft someone to "push" the 1st round QB I already like.....illicit's my death stare.

The Dolphins are luckier to have Ryan Tannehill at QB than Ryan Tannehill is lucky to be a Dolphin.

Yeah because we hadn't been going 8-8 for a decade and a half before he graced us with his presence.

What do you mean by "being right"? That scenario wouldn't make be right. I haven't predicted anything.

But....

A) Why are you so sure it wouldn't be for the good of the team? IMO, drafting BPA in an area of need is what is good for the team and QB is not, IMO, an area of need.

B) Get over yourself, it was a joke.

C) Most of the Tannehaters don't give a rat's *** about the good of the team (IMO, of course).

D) It would still be funny as hell and I would wish for a couple dozen hidden cameras covering some specific posters. I would pay to watch that.

In response:

A) Always the best idea to select BPA for area of need.....which QB for us is.

B) Funny how you tell others to "get over it" as it was a joke but you have a conniption fit anytime someone sarcastically replies or jokes about Tannehill.

C) You're correct here, but only if you replace "Tannehaters" with "Tannelovers" in your sentence (IMO, of course).

D) Same here, but those cameras would be pointed at you and others when the Dolphins take a QB at 11 or move up.

But going 8-8 with a slightly above average QB is better than 8-8 with a crappy QB...we get to witness the arm talent of the 3rd or 4th most accurate long ball QB.

Yup and drafting a new QB is automatically going to fix the numerous holes that are causing us to be mediocre. Can't wait to see Rosen play LB.

One isituation isn't better than the other but the team's response to each situation better sure as hell be different.

If the brain trust believes Rosen can and will be an elite QB i say go for it. If not than stick to Tannehill, I'd rather have an above average QB than a crappy one but I also wouldn't hate it if they drafted what they thought would be a better option.

Honestly I rather blow the whole thing up and start from scratch from the front office to the 3rd string QB.

I guess we will see, won't we?

Good thing we dont have a crappy one. But I agree, if they think one is elite than go for it. We dont have a bad QB, but we dont have an elite one either.

I don’t think their plan is to trade Tanny, rather than get someone to back him up and be the Fins future Qb

He's definitely not going anywhere any time soon. If someone believes he's being traded their just trying to pad their agenda.....it's not realistic.

going 8-8 sucks regardless, who cares if our QB is ranked high at one throwing statistic? While it's very hard to do there absolutely zero argument that finding a talented QB is the quickest way to transform a team. Sure we need LB help right now and we can help try and fill that hole in the draft, but guess what? Maybe next year we'll need Oline help and the year after that D line help. There are always going to be holes on a team but as long as you have a stud QB you can manage them much better.

I know i'm preaching to the choir to most people but it's baffling how people haven't picked up on the fact that teams are consistently successful in the league unless they have an above average QB.

Go ahead and call out all of the anomalies you'd like.

I think we wall agree we're going to be a better team next season and more than likely won't be picking this low again ( I pray), if there's an opportunity at 5 or 6 to hop up and grab someone we like for a fair price, i think we should take it.

Elway just said he is open for business at 5. With the Broncos (5) and Colts (6) both open for business, looks like the Top 4 QBs will be gone and a TON of bluechip talent will fall to 11.

Unless Gase is absolutely enthralled by Mayfield, best move is to stay at 11 and reap the benefits.

Couldn't agree more, this is what an above average QB playing consistently looks like.

Week 6 October 16 Pittsburgh Steelers W
Week 7 October 23 Buffalo Bills W
Week 8 Bye
Week 9 November 6 New York Jets W
Week 10 November 13 at San Diego Chargers W
Week 11 November 20 at Los Angeles Rams W
Week 12 November 27 San Francisco 49ers W
Week 13 December 4 at Baltimore Ravens L
Week 14 December 11 Arizona Cardinals W

I know I know, it's not New England. But in 2013, 2014 and 2015 it was. How many QB's can say they've beaten Tom Brady 2 years in a row, let alone 3.

The very last time you saw Ryan Tannehill play he was 15/20 with 3 TD's in just over a half of play. Ajayi's 48 yards on 20 carries didn't help them much on that day.

Pull a reverse T-baum. Trade #11, Branch & McDonald to Indy for 6. Trade back down with Buffalo so they get stuck with Josh Allen for the next 4 years, pick up 12 and 22. Grab whoever is left from James, Fitz, Edmunds or Roquon and get Da'Ron payne at 22.

This could happen, right? LOL.
