Akeem Spence To The Fins

Fantastic move. Starting Calibur DT, obviously a huge need, for a pick that may or may not make the roster.

All this talk about giving up valuable assets...For every Marques Colston, Antonio Brown, and Brady, how many more 6/7's don't even end up on the practice squad?

Some additional help at a position of need. Why wouldn't we be happy with this move?

You all can bash me all you want. I have watched the guy play. My two buddies are TB fans and Lions fans. The guy is below average. Has also been suspended. I would rather have not traded future picks and address DT after June 1st. I fully supported this draft. Those claiming some people just want to bitch don't know Jack. Go research him. Below average in my opinion. Even for a 7th. All picks are valuable.
Obviously, you know more about this kid than his DL coach. ;)

Some members here are so hard-wired towards negativity that if you inform them, they've won a million dollars they'd be pissing and moaning that it wasn't 2 million. At this point, I'm used to the insanity.
And I knew exactly who'd they be before I opened the thread. Predictable as the morning sun

So, when a logical, fact-based opinion is expressed about a trade that doesn't agree with some people, they're called "negative" and "insane".
Discuss the facts and points that were presented. But some are unable to discuss logically, so they name-call.
Grow up.
You have to remember the original "fact Based" argument was...He is trash. There wasn't much more to the original post.

The guy was asked to two-gap in Tampa as a 6'1, 307 lb NT as McCoy played 3T. Talk about being misused.

The last half of the season in 2017, the light seemed to come on for the guy (playing in the wide 9 front). I read some of the tweets from Lions fans after the trade and they were NOT happy. Many said he was their best DT.

This from twitterland yesterday....

Among 38 qualifying DT's, Spence was 16th in run stop % and 14th in pass rush productivity. He finished with a 6.3 PRP, just .5 off Ndamukong Suh at 6.8. - Travis Wingfield (lockedondolphins)

Hard to be upset about bringing in a DT who will be the best DT we have on the roster barring a MAJOR improvement by any of them.

Please remind what was the logical, fact-based opinion?

Seriously it's a hard trade to find fault with. We needed a DT that could significantly contribute snap count wise. We got one that was a) cheap b) young and c) relatively successful (especially last year). We sent away a 7th round pick which is as much an asset as I am a rodeo clown.

You can disagree with the failure to address the position prior to this trade, thus leaving us with a gaping need to be filled by Spence. But given our circumstances the fact that anyone can say this was a bad deal because we paid too much, or gave away too many valuable resources....it's an insta-reaction to a TBaum trade.

No grey area there as far as I can see.

Well worth a 7th rounder. Provides poven depth beyond the usual camp fodder of the 6th and 7th rounds who generally get cut anyway.

As much as it annoys me this forum would be dead if everyone was ecstatic after every move. It’s always good to have both sides. My pet peeve is the Damn people who anytime the patriots get someone “ahhh they are going to the super bowl” like no **** they go to every super bowl lol

It’s incredibly annoying. I understand having Dolphins PTSD with all the garbage this team has put us through, but bitching about this trade is complaining just to complain. And people who complain just to complain are the the most annoying people on earth.
