Morgan went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, signing with the Miami Dolphins as a free agent on May 5. Not unlike many UDFA’s, Morgan was later waived by the organization and signed to the Dolphins’ practice squad after clearing waivers.
On January 1 of this year, Morgan inked a reserve/future contract with Miami, good for two years and $1,050,000. The loss of Dolphins’ wide receiver Jarvis Landry should help Morgan, but he’s currently in a race with five other contenders for last receiver spot on the Dolphins 53-man roster.

I’m a fan of Morgan but I forgot we gave him that deal. Sometimes you gotta laugh at yourself.

Well it’s similar to the Berrios situation that people wanted us to take a chance on. I would like to see him get some play in pre season and see what happens.

Ford is also there- lots of competition at the back end ..

Morgan has a good mentor now in DA .... hopefully he takes advantage of it! I thought he might have had a good chance this year, until we signed Wilson and DA ... would guess he'll spend another year on the PS ... at least until DA gets hurt and misses time (and you know he will).

Is any of that money guaranteed? Or if he doesn't make the team he gets nothing?

sounds like a lot of money for a guy that might not even make the team. I believe that at this point, that 6th spot at WR will go to whoever plays better on ST's. The top 5 are already in. Everyone else has to make it on ST's.

That's gonna be a really tough road with all the depth we have at the position. Ford looks to be making sure he's known so Morgan better really turn it up.

Yea not seeing a spot for him with the investments at slot already.

Stills, Parker, Amendola and Wilson are the locks.

Grant seemed like a lock but Wilson sort of replaces Grant in the role he had so I think Grant needs to make it on specials. Not as confident as others here.

Carroo still has a clear path being a bigger possession outside receiver that can also man the slot and serve as Parker insurance . . . .but that is certainly not a lock. I think he makes it tho.

Ford has a shot but I think he is practice squad material for 2018 as he continues his return.

Parker, Stills, Wilson, Amendola, Grant are all locks. Unless one of them gets traded or injured these 5 will see 95% of the plays. Then there's Carroo, Ford, Morgan, Owusu, Scott, and Lewis. If Miami decides to keep 6 on the roster, which they very well could, that 6th guy better be a good ST player as well. I like Ford and Morgan. IMO Ford has the leg up on the others.

Totally agree here. That 6th spot won't be counted to be a part of the offense anyway unless we have several injuries. It's all about ST's and the same goes for the DB's and LB's. The last spot on those will be for ST's.

I like Morgan but he does not look like he has the quickness and shiftiness that an Amendola, Ricky Proehl, Landry, et al have. I am not sure how he was timed but on video I don't see that same level of shiftiness that the nice slots have.
