2018 Stadium Updates

The stadium probably makes more money in the offseason than most realize. There will be 8 major concerts there in 2018 (Eagles, Jimmy Buffet was awesome by the way), there will also be at least 2 Major soccer tournaments, and 7 University of Miami football games. And now the Miami Open. Ross is also bringing the tennis tournament to the stadium to enhance his chances of winning additional Super Bowl bids and College playoff games. It stinks for tailgating for 8 days a year.

regarding the potential new training facility:

@AdamHBeasley: Proposed facility would be 150,000-200,000 square feet, with an 85-to-95-foot high field house.

@AdamHBeasley: Dolphins would build an indoor field house and have two regulation-sized grass fields

@AdamHBeasley: Proposed site of 21-acre complex is on city-owned land between Everglades High and Glade Middle schools

Not sure how 21 acres would compare to the Davie facility

edit:

@AdamHBeasley: Dolphins' current practice facility is roughly 12 acres, making it one of the smallest in the NFL.

Looks like a nice size track of land that would fit a building a 2 fields put there nicely. Far from anything like Dallas has but it would be a little bigger, land wise, than we have now.

That is a horrible idea. For a one week event, once a year, you kill off thousands of parking spaces. Not a good idea.
Just food for thought about parking. You always can go down or up. Not sure what the water level is down in Florida so dropping down a level might not be an option, but you always can build up in double the parking. It's not like Ross can't afford it…

Sure. You can always build parking garages. But the point is more about tailgating. Can't tailgate in parking garages.

What's the purpose of that screen? Are they promoting come watch the game outside the stadium? Movie night? Or just random crap playing on it that nobody will pay attention to?

Lets go dolphins, adverts for upcoming events etc

Wembley has several of them, I quite like them

Just don't see myself going to a Dolphins game and watching a tv. Rather be tailgating and socializing. Might be handy if it is a 4pm game and they are showing early games but again tailgating trumps all.

its more of a billboard

You would be amazed how many tail gaters don't go in for the game. But I think the new screen is for other events like concerts, soccer etc. If they sell out. You can still pack the lot at 40-75 bucks for parking on special events

As @uk_dolfan said it probably is more an informative thing for upcoming events at Hard Rock. Most new arenas and stadiums have that.

It probably could also be used to show the Dolphins when they play in the Superbowl functioning as an additional public viewing area when the stadium overflows with fans watching the Superbowl on the big ass screens inside. :laugh
It's all for the Superbowl run. :roflmao

No, it really isn't. For pregames it will show either network pregame coverage or have their own programming on there. During the game they will be showing either the game or highlights, just like the jumbotron inside the stadium. For Tennis, this is widely used, to show the matches going on outside the stadium for others to see. They do this at most of the major venues. Baseball teams are now using the practice as well, including the Braves at the Battery at Suntrust Park. Can't get into the stadium? Enjoy it from right outside and watch all the action on the lawn, on the screen, and spend money at all the establishments there. Charge for parking and it is a win-win.

Looks like the field is being replaced again!
