I remember I was in my early 20’s and bought a satalite TV. Not some little Direct TV Satalite, a big 8 footer that had to be installed with a concrete base in my back lawn. There’s not a lot of real estate in Southern California so it was a tight squeeze. I used to go through about 15 different satalites in the sky and about 35 different signals per satalite to find the Dolphins broadcast. I saw a local comercial for the Dolphins Digest and subscribed right away.

I couldn’t wait for my local Dolphins news as information was hard to come by and ESPN never gave me more than 60 seconds of Dolphins news and highlights even on the post game show. Internet was dialup and it took minutes to load up pages and there still wasn’t much to find in the Fins. I forget how many issues I got in my subscription but man I couldn’t wait for it to come. The draft review, season preview and weekly updates. I don’t know if it’s still around but it was my only source of real Fins info available.

Fast forward to 2006 and I found finheaven, I dont Post a lot but I’m sure if you went back you would see my wonderful post insights with Rodger Stabach and John Beck comparisons, Jay fielder and Jay Feely support posts. No matter the time or team I have had something to say and give my two cents all thanks to finheaven. I donated $40 anonymously early this year and suggest if you can afford anything you do too. There are so many apps out there to get news from but I love talking Fins football here. It won’t atay around forever if we don’t help and if you’re young it may become the Dolphins Digest of your time. Let’s keep this place going and try and donate a few bucks a year. I’m not a moderator or site developer, just a fan who appreciates going to a site by Fins fans for fin fans, otherwise we will eventually be posters in larger commet pages on the various articles out there and that world is a nightmare.

You take me back with this post. Could not wait till my copy arrived each week. Would read it over and over. Really came in handy at draft time, All you got in my local paper after the draft were the names of the draftees. My how times have changed!

Awww sure, all uppity with your fancy Dolphins Digest, when the rest of us had to make due with Lindy's and Athlon!

I use to run the website for like 10 years. The good ole days.

I still get it. Been going on 20 +years now. Still love reading the issues.
A few years back they had a redesign and it was much larger. Then it went back to the old newspaper style. Now during the season it is delivered every 2 weeks. Not like at the beginning when it was every week during the season.
Still learn much more about the fins here.

I loved Dolphin Digest. The best was after the draft. Great read up on the players. Mine use to arrive every Saturday and get me pumped to go see Dolphins at a Satellite bar. Back then Direct TV didnt exist.

Yep that was the news back then, Sun Sentinal Miami Herald and the Palm Beach Post. Near draft time I would get all 4 to get a better perspective to see whats up here in Ft Myers. This site is much easier with more well rounded information. Miss Edwin Popes dolphin commentary.

Wow, I think I was getting it back in the late 80s. Had to pay double for first-class delivery, like you said just to get it the week of the game. Yeah, unfortunately, the Internet made written news obsolete.

I loved the Dolphins Digest. I would get upset if it didn't show up before the next game. had to pay extra to get it drop shipped to NJ

Hey Kev, didn't you visit the forums too? I remember ya. :)
