Training Camp Day 5

I clicked on this thread with the mistaken impression it was a day 5 training camp thread. The good things is it only took me about 30 seconds to review pages 5 and 6.

Can I be honest . . . .I am going through a few of these 2016 Ryan Tannehill drop back videos just killin some time . . . Jarvis and his nose for the sticks and his toughness and ability to run thru contact just jumps off the film on every one of these damn videos.

The poor QB play and ball placement soured a lot of folks on him last year despite all the catches and touchdowns . . . .but that dude was just so effective with 2016 Tannehill. I think he’ll be missed more than it seems right now and hopefully Amendola and Wilson can make us not miss him so much.

Good player man, we can argue salary and worth until the cows come home but it’s hard to say “we got better” at receiver when you lose a guy like that.

But the Dolphins have a different opinion. Their view of Landry is your view. They see his passion. And his production. And his toughness. They see all that. And that has value to them.

They see a player who doesn’t pay attention to details. They see a player who sometimes runs the right routes and sometimes doesn’t. They see a player who sometimes inspires with his emotions, but sometimes loses control and hurts his team. They see a player who doesn’t lead in the locker room although he’s in a great position to do so.

They see a player who doesn’t seem to respect his coaches because he often ignores what they ask. They see a player who has been, in the words of multiple sources, “a pain” to deal with and “hard to reach.”

I honestly don’t care who the backup is at this point. All in on Tannehill, if he goes down the season will be a wash anyways and it won’t matter who’s behind Center.

Yea if we are relatively healthy with even average to slightly below average oline play and we finish .500 or worse, I mean I don’t even know what else could justify not addressing the QB position in a significant way.

Tannehill has a lot to prove this year.

I looked up a stat earlier today, he's 3-10 in divisional road games and has never won in Buffalo or New England. That needs to change this year.

He also should be aiming to win a playoff game this year.

Let’s assume I take all of that Armando article for truth and not some of it as a PR soften blow for the team justifying losing arguably its most popular player . . . .that still doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the player Jarvis was and what he meant to the offense and Ryan Tannehill during his Miami tenure.

The We don’t like Jarvis stuff only came out when the team was losing and Jarvis wanted to get paid. Players don’t enjoy having to play out their rookie deals, especially ones like Juice that embrace contact and do the dirty work, remained durable, watched clowns get paid much more than him his entire tenure and likely got lowballed in contract talks.

It’s a business and with their **** cap management, Miami was best moving on, but I don’t buy he was some cancer when I heard plenty of good and Gase thoroughly praising him a year before and complementing that “he likes his locker room”.

Didn’t hear a word about wrong routes and not listening until 2017.

Jinkies you had the exact same response in page 4 post #153 in the Landry Talking about Miami again thread. I thought I was crazy and clicked on the same thread.

He is not better than Ryan Tannehill and at this point in his career one can make a very good argument that he would be the 3rd best QB on Miami's roster this year.
Matt Moore is a career backup and always has been. The facts of the matter is that he has not retired and he is still not on any NFL roster as of today. All of the training camps are open and he is sitting at home just like Jay Cutler. Some Miami fans have tried in vain for many years to elevate Matt Moore beyond his abilities. He was a good back up QB for us and that is where it should stop. Making him out to be something he never was, damages his usefulness as a quality back up in Miami history. I appreciate his contributions to the QB room and over all being a very good teammate but we as fans need to understand that there are very good reasons the 31 other NFL teams have not signed him to even a veterans minimal contract.

Good morning. There are three QBs right now behind Tannehill. I am sure that's what @FINOMINAL was referring to.

just pointing out that jarvis is trying to change the narrative, the fins were considering trading him around the same time as ajayi...armandos story sounds alot closer to the truth than jarvis landrys...

i mean the fact landry is acting the way he is, gives even more credibility to armandos version

Not to be the sour puss but there are threads about Landry in the main forum. This one is for discussion of the 5th day of camp so let's get back to that.

Yea I know I was doing it too.

That's my QB
