How Did Gesicki Do Blocking?

He wasn't terrible run-blocking but I saw him get bull-rushed into Tannehill on a pass-rush.

Had some nice kick out blocks on a couple tds in space which showed how the athlete can achieve win angles

But he’s terrible in line in max protect or stay in ask. Got bulled into the backfield like he was on skates. Kind of stuff that will get your qb killed.

Only thing I can think is they are trying to set something else up with him as a pass receiver out of these looks. Probably some kind of angle block on the lb level and release type thing.

So looking at the highlights (I hope to find a full game in the next couple of days) I saw Gesicki had key blocks to help spring Grant and Wilson

Although I will never say these are pretty blocks, issues with technique, head placement, hand placement...the first step in being an effective blocker is a willingness and he shows that much at this early stage in his career. HE can be coached up...another 5 or so lbs to that frame and I think you will have a OK blocker to go along with a potentially dynamic receiver.

I agree wholeheartedly, he has shown an understanding and self awareness that it's a weakness in his game is while also a willingness to stick his nose in it and try to improve.

Like you said they are not text book blocks. But as fast as our skills guys are (him included) just getting in the way and running a guy out of the play will be more than adequate.
