Best Team In Florida: Mia, Jax, Or Tb?

I'm a little skeptical of the Bucs for a couple of reasons:

1. Their defense doesn't look particularly good.
2. Ryan Fitzpatrick does this. He gets RED HOT and then ICE COLD.

That said, I am a little skeptical of Miami because our defense has faced a putrid Titans offense and a rookie quarterback. Right now we look like a top three defense... not sure if that's going to hold up. Kind of doubt it, to be honest.

I think this is absolutely the key question. Jacksonville has a dominant defense that, barring injuries, will last all season. They only need the offense to be decent to win a whole lot of games. If Bortles and the offense plays better than average, they will absolutely challenge for the Lombardi trophy. They are probably the best team in the NFL right now, much less Florida.

The Bucs are a decent team with a lot of offensive weapons and Fitz is playing amazing BUT he's played at a very high level before and always comes back to earth. That's why he's the definition of a journeyman, he can provide adequate to great play for short periods of time. I think he crashes and burns by mid season.

Miami is proving to be solid, if not spectacular, on both sides of the ball. Again, barring injuries, I expect Tannehill and the offense to continue to improve and get more consistent. The offensive line is the key, as always, to the offense thriving. The defense is very good and should improve as well. It's not Jacksonville good, but a lot better than most.

With all of that being said, I see the season unfolding with Jacksonville at 13-3, Tampa at 10-6, and Miami at 11-5. Imo, Tampa is the least likely to be able to sustain their extremely high level of play throughout the season.

I don't see Tampa at 10-6 because I see Fitz having one bad game and getting pulled for Winston because "Franchise Quarterback". I don't think highly of Winston at all and I think he comes back and the team implodes.

Miami is obviously the States longest tenured team with a long history. But unfortunately since Shulas hay days, both the Buccaneers and Jaguars at one time or another had better teams, with the Buccaneers winning a Super Bowl. But as of today if I were picking the team that has the longer term potential as a perennial playoff team it be the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tom Coughlin has done it as both a coach with the Jaguars and New York Giants. And now sits a top the Jaguars organization, molding this team in his vision. Doug Marrone is a very underrated, hard nosed Head Coach, who learned from Shula himself. Together I feel they'll have much more success because; both Coughlin and Marrone are cut from the Old School mold of the NFL. They have implemented a smash mouth, bully type of football team. They literally beat you up at the line of scrimmage and rape your QB during games. I felt Coughlin was the guy Miami should have been looking at to run the team, not Tannenbaum. As for the Bucs, well they'll fade as soon as Fitzpatrick blows once again.

Yeah Tampa has the Super Bowl and another NFC championship appearance and Jacksonville has two AFC championship appearances since Miami’s last been to a title game.

Lol, I have no idea how somebody can argue that Bortles or Fitzpatrick are better than Tannehill... although I could see Fitzpatrick getting monster #s this year because that offense is absolutely terrifying. How do you even stop that? Besides putting Winston back in, of course.

Ball placement is bortles worst trait. He hits the wrong shoulder on a consistent basis. The talk of him being a crap QB is rediculous though. He’s had growing pains and suffered through some poor decisions on the field for a couple of seasons but he’s devleloped into a fine QB

I’ve never heard anything of him being immature/inappropriate. I’ve heard everything to the contrary actually, he’s involved in charities and often throws functions for his team mates

Who gives a damn if he likes to drink, he was a first round pick out of the State of Florida and now he’s a starting QB in the NFL. I’d drink and have fun too. Never have been any reports of him getting into trouble

I feel for the dude he’s got one of the biggest targets on his back even on a personal level I guess

You could entirely be right. They have a solid team outside of the QB position that can obviously win. Both Winston and Fitzpatrick can obviously play at a high level but both have been very inconsistent. Don't discount Winston's talent because he's an idiot. Also, don't assume that Fitz can keep up this level of play for a whole year as he can be equally terrible in short order. The big question with them is will one of their QBs continue to show up and play at a very high level? I think they will rise and fall throughout the year with the quality of QB play on that given day. Nevertheless, I'm interested to see how it unfolds.

He has been legitimately awful for pretty much his entire career. Tape guys and analytics guys finally found a quarterback they could agree on with Blake Bortles.

Oh yeah i should have clarified I don't see TB as a 10-6 team either way because if they do keep Fitz in I think he will eventually cool down and that defense will keep giving up points. I guess I just went with the Winston thing because I expect him to get put in and I just don't see the talent other people do. I also don't think hes a good locker room guy and I wouldn't be surprised if those skill position players like Fitz more than him and will play harder for Fitz.

Yep. Things look a little different after week 3.

Jacksonville still looks like a definite playoff team with that defense, but right now Miami is 3-0 and the other two teams are 2-1, barring a 20 point second half comeback for Tampa. And the Bucs sure tumbled fast.

The FitzMagic has worn off... He is truly the Cinderella of QBs. It's pumpkin time!
That D was never going to let them win in the payoffs we as Dolphins fans should know what happens when your QB puts up 40 but the D gives up 45. That and how they are putting up the points the D has no time to rest as they have no run game at all.
