His front 9 was amazing. Did not hit one fairway but finished -3. Some excellent shots from terrible lies.
Great for golf when he's on the leader board.

Seeing Tiger mounting that charge and the energy of that gallery was something. Definitely turned back the clock and then some. Great, great round.

But that Koepka was something else. So much power, but his control was spectacular. Has his driver dialed in, can work his irons both ways, wedges were dead solid, putting feel was great. What really set him apart though was his mental game. He's like a machine out there - he never flinched once coming down the stretch. I was really impressed - I had no idea he was that good. Between him and all the other "young guns" out there, Tiger really has his work cut out for him.

He got way more out of that round than anyone else could've - it was crazy. But seriously, he's got to figure that driver out. You might be able to get away with some of that at Augusta, but anywhere else, you just can't two-way spray it all over the yard and expect to contend. It's the difference between god-mode Tiger and also-ran Tiger.

He should put the driver away and just hit the 3 and his driving iron. Just put something in the fairway guy.

Do you play brother GasPed ?

Yeah, he used to have the stinger 3 wood, and now he's hitting that driving iron - but in the age of the 500 yard dogleg par 4, 280 yards, even if it's straight down the middle, just doesn't cut it. o_O

But to answer your question, I sort of play golf - like twice a year. With kids and all, I pretty much gave up the game twenty years ago. Back then I was around a 10-12 handicap, but I'm probably a 20 now, if that. I was never a long hitter, just straight fairways and greens. But now I'm both short and crooked (I know all about two-way misses ;)), which puts a big stress on my short game. Which in turn is crap, which places a huge stress on the putter. Which in turn is nowhere near up to the challenge. ;) So now I play bogey golf with the occasional double or triple thrown in just to spice it up. Who knows, maybe once all the kids are gone, I'll take it up again - but it's a bit expensive and time-consuming, not to mention aggravating (and rewarding). ;)

Got a set of one length Cobra irons and they are a game changer for me. I love positioning the ball in the middle of my stance for every club. Hitting the gap wedge is strangely fun given that it’s the same length as a standard 7 iron. I got 5-GW.

Haven't played much this year. Been too busy with karting. Now that racing is winding down I plan to play a few fall rounds with my retired buddy.

i could crush the ball in high school. then I damaged my rotator playing football and that knocked it down some, then I slowly put on 200 additional pounds, so its pretty pointless for me to golf now, I have zero fluidity that I once did. sad too considering I practically live on the country club and was a member when I was in high school. Heck it used to be one of Michael Jordans favorite courses, him and LT used to golf there a lot in the 90s. my best friends mom worked at the (now torn down) convience store across the street and met them a few times. kind of miss playing, I always did beer per hole, but now im smarter with the driving (vehicle), and last time I played I sucked so bad it was almost 2 beers and a cigarette per hole I would hit the damn ball so many times

Tiger Tiger Tiger

Wins :woot:

Unbelievable. Wins the tour championship with his 80th pro win.
Yup, good for golf, good for everything really - in this crazy world, there's something oddly reassuring to see him back up there. I don't think he'll ever dominate like he used to 15 years ago, but he proved this tournament that when he's on, he is still a force. This, plus the Dolphins win = a great sports Sunday. :victory

Great first day of the Ryder cup -the leads have changed so many times

Played 26 holes for $25 with kart. Beer bill was much higher.lol We played 18'even and my buddy had to buy another 6 after losing 2 stroke lead at sEnd of 18. We played 8 more and couldn't settle the issue. Was lots of fun.
