So what gives? This feels like a product of reputation. The Patriots have proven time and again that they are one of the best organizations the NFL has ever produced — arguably the best the NFL ever has seen, given the manner in which the Patriots have continued to thrive during an era of parity (supposedly) and the salary cap.

But times change. Teams change. The Patriots have, on many occasions, used discipline, preparation, brainpower, and effort to overcome talent gaps. The past two weeks, the talent gaps have been too great for any feats of coaching strength to overcome.

This week, there’s another talent gap. The Dolphins are, despite the respective reputations of the two franchises, the better team right now. They are playing better. They are playing more effectively. They have won every game, getting better each week.

Of course, that doesn’t change the fact that the Patriots are desperate. But weren’t they desperate on Sunday night in Detroit? Did it ultimately matter?

good read and agree with the article. Getting some respect

I love this! Make it 10, 14 point underdogs. This is only fueling our team this year. The whole offseason, talking heads said we would be last, that Gase lost it, and Ryan never had it.
We need a shirt or a logo for underdogs '18!

Why do these talking heads picks bother people? It makes 0 difference.

I really love comments like these.

First off, what bothers you might not even be a blip on the radar for someone else.

Secondly, just because it makes zero difference to you doesn’t automatically negate its importance for everybody else.

Not all of us live in your proverbial box so please don’t pretend like we all have to think like you.

Actually understandable, this is a Patriots team that is in desperation mode, in their home Stadium.

When the Patriots lose, they take it out severely on the next team but this time, they're coming off two losses in a row, so the thinking is, the mirage Dolphins may end up being decimated in this coming game.

I think this will be a very close game.
Hopefully it willnot be decided by a few controversial calls for the Pats.
Kraft is a very generous man.

This is great!

They cheat. The end.

Yeah, if they cheat again which is highly likely...I say have a ****ing player take a shot at Brady even if it means huge fine. **** Brady and the Cheaters. This has gone on for too long and it’s time to end it.
