Tannehill Injury Update Thread

Fins believe Tannehill won't require surgery
7417.jpg

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said the team is not looking at "surgical options" for Ryan Tannehill (shoulder).

He's sitting again this week and reportedly faces an "uphill challenge" to play in Week 8. Tannehill's shoulder injury is obviously more serious than initially thought, though the Dolphins are confident he won't require surgery. Brock Osweiler will continue to fill in at quarterback for Miami.

No surgery again, huh? Well, okay then...

As you all can see this thread has shrunk. I deleted nearly 14 pages of posts. This is an injury update thread. It is about the injury and news in regards to Tannehill's injury. No talk about play calling, Osweiler, other QBs, drafts or anything else.

Anybody who has any news about the injury can add to it.

@Section126 I am changing the thread title to make it more appropriate.

Any offtopics will be deleted and the rule will be: 3 strikes and you are thread banned.

I would love to know what the injury is. Labrum, rotator, ac joint etc. the speculation points to labrum but confirmation would be nice. Gase is handling this oddly. He’s going to really get annoyed by the questions if Ryan goes to IR after he said he will play again.

Gase has never been forthright about injuries but I don't think he's ever outright lied either. Tough situation to read with everything considered.

it does seem like a cover to play Brock.
i dont know. gase is a big boy and so is THill. If Gase wanted to start Brock for whatever reason he woukd just do it.

He’s not like some posters who have their whole self esteem wrapped up in their choice, ir better yet firing, of their QB.

I think T Hill would be playing if he could.

It’s crazy we cant get info.

A simple arthrogram / mri would give us concrete knowledge, unless it’s like his knee and we need time for “swelling” to go down, but it’s been weeks already it appears

Yes I think this is a real injury and not a benching. In fact I think that theory is pretty dumb. If this was a benching and Os got hurt I’m pretty sure you’d want to have Ryan available and dressed. I don’t think Gase would hesitate to make a change if he thought he needed to. I personally think he’s pissed because he knows he’s married to Ryan and he’s hurt again.

That’s why I think it’s pretty serious. In fact I’m with CK, I think Ryan is done. Gase is gonna have a **** storm to answer than but he’ll probably just get mad and not answer the questions. My guess (STRESS GUESS) is a partially torn Labrum. I think if it was a full tear they would have to shut him down ( wouldn’t they).

I read or perhaps heard somewhere that they did give him an MRI and have had more than one opinion/diagnosis on his shoulder.

it is very convenient that we play 2 teams that have each 2 weeks to prepare for us and we switch Qbs last minute before game 1. Leaving the 1st team with1 day to prepare for the QB and the 2nd team 1 week to prepare for the QB.

Gase today with his, “I didn’t know Ryan was on a rest plan, he may throw tomorrow” is interesting. I’m wondering, does he know what’s being reported and who’s reporting it?
