Qb Next Year

The only thing Carson Wentz and Easton Stick have in common is they play QB at NDSU. Not even in the same ballpark in FM strength, decision making, or play making ability.

I've watched him for 2+ years now. Carson was just a different bread.

Ok...so your never wrong about ABout QB prospects?

We need you to replace Grier!

Most of the teams in the NFL passed on Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees...in fact they all passed on Brady several times...so please don’t tell me it’s an exact science watching and evaluating a college QB play.

Here is one of several sources that contradict your evaluation.....

But the truth is he has a better arm than Jensen and is more athletic than Wentz. Stick has NFL talent, and the scouts recognize that. His junior season was just as impressive as Wentz’s junior year when simply looking at the numbers.

Wentz (2014, 15-1 record): 228-358 passing, 3,111 yards, 25 TDs, 10 INT., 138 rushes, 642 yards, 6 TDs
Stick (2017, 14-1 record): 164-264 passing, 2,466 yards, 28 TDs, 8 INT., 112 rushes, 663 yards, 12 TDs

All these people saying we just need to cut Tannehill. Who are we gonna pick up If we cut him. $13 million is dead money and we save $13 millionwhich is gonna have to go straight to a new QB because we don't have another. Brock is on a one year deal. If we bring him back as the starter, he not gonna play for $850k like this year. You want to pay Brock $7-10 million to be the QB? Falk and Fales aren't the answer. Both have pop warner arms. Gase isn't gonna roll into the season with Falk or Fales with his *** on the line. No way.

We got two games with the bills, Colts, and Jets at home. Worst we do is 2-2 with 3-1 very likely even with how bad it's looked. Draft isn't an option for a starter. I'm not trading the franchise away for any of these QB, when the 2020 group is a year away. So with the whopping $13 million we saved who is this mysterious QB we are gonna get? I think thill is here next year unless his arm has fallen off.
There is NO WAY Ryan Tannehill takes the field as a Dolphins QB next season. You can quote me on that. They will draft a QB or sign a QB in free agency. My feeling is Marcus Mariota may be available.

I was just thinking the same thing. I’d love to have Mariota here.

If it’s not Tannehill and I stress if in 2019 and I’m trying to compete teddy bridgewaters the route I’d go. If I’m looking to lock up a top 5 pick in 2020 then Brock awfulweiser makes the most sense.

Mel kipers latest has Herbert a top 5 bpa in the 2019 class. There’s 6 teams with 1 or 2 wins at the halfway point. Good luck getting there

My point is that the ones in the first round this year aren't that special. Herbert maybe. Why would we want to wait until the second in a not so great class to draft one and rely on him to start? I'd rather trade back in this years draft and try to pick up draft capital for next year to make a move for Tua or Fromm. When it comes to QBs I'm not trying to find a sleeper or looking for a value pick. I want to go get the one I want.
.
I love this post

How can it be both extremely hard to win in the NFL and extremely hard to tank? Tanking certainly happens, and if its not a problem now its certainly going to be a huge problem in the future. So we better get in on the action now while you can do it relatively easily without any real repercussions.

Hmmmm..... remember Colts and the Suck for Luck sweepstakes?

That is exactly right. They tanked. They sat Dwight freeney towards the tail end as a healthy scratch.

I have a hard time believing Adam gase would green light awfulweiser as a starter for a year. I know what that tape says just like I knew what it said with jay cutler last year. And i don’t think he can stomach it for 16 games as the plan a.

You're digging into some of the philosophical reasons I believe this league is freaking toast. They're sitting on a throne right now, but the warning signs are pretty clear with viewer ratings in a steady drop. The league has implemented parity through rule changes so that the difference between .500 and a powerhouse team is one position on the field. That just sounds like the perfect way to have your big markets in contention making big money for the league just about every year. The rest of the markets get to stay interested because their teams are likely never out of it by much thanks to the wildcard race.

We'll see what the league resorts to once they become desperate. Maybe they'll ease up on the rules currently handcuffing defenses. It would be nice if the QB position wasn't the end-all-be-all of the NFL since there's only so many good ones of those to go around...

Hopefully it’s a good one.

Miami needs to embrace selling overpriced vets and acquiring draft picks to get their qb of choice.

If it’s Herbert this year? Fine, go get him. If it’s Tua, go get him, if it’s someone else, go ****ing get him.

Miami needs to fill on embrace sucking so they can finally get a chance at an too qb prospect.

Easier said than done. QBs are overvalued in the draft, and we already have 4 wins. Even if we did tank, we'll probably back into another win or two and not be in position to draft Herbert. And tanking next year isn't happening unless Gase is fired after this year- he'd be tanking for a QB that he likely wouldn't get to coach otherwise.
