We get asked this question every year. I can't wait for the day when we know we'll make the playoffs and we just need one more win for home field advantage instead of hoping for a better draft position.

It seems like we are always playing catch up. Even our last 2 playoff seasons we needed unlikely comeback seasons to get into the postseason. I think our first quarter scoring is a quality representation of our team the last two decades. Always playing from behind.

I don’t get threads like this. Do you really want anybody on the team or coaching staff that doesn’t put their full effort into winning every week? Winners attract winners. A 10 win team is more attractive to free agents than a 8 win team and the difference of player drafted is probably negligible.

I don't think we have any free agents left that signed after our 10 win season, well Hayes but he's on IR. This years crop hasn't fared well either. Relying on free agency is not a good strategy but I guess that's a must when you are always drafting from mid pack.

I agree that a team shouldn’t be built mostly through free agency. It’s complementary. The way I see it is this FO has shown solid improvement in the draft the last few years so a smart free agency complement to that will pay off over the next few years. It looked like it was going to pay off big this year, but then the injury bug hit damn near all of them.

We've been mediocre for over a decade 8-8,7-9 type of seasons and it has gotten us nowhere, Talent trumps all, any fan would want the best talent possible. Nobody is talking about losing early on, but when your out of the playoff run what scenario u prefer, that was the question. I need an argument on why 8-8 is better than 6-10 long term.

Technically we are not out of a playoff run and wins are not meaningless.

I really have only a couple more things to say and then I am done because we are going in circles.

- Talent does not trump all. If you have a coaching staff who does not know how to use the talent all the talent in the world doesn't mean a thing. The best coaches are able to coach players up and put them into a system and in positions they in which they can excel in.
- We've been mediocre for over a decade because we never had the FO and coaches who can identify players with talent we could use and put them into the right scheme.

Closest I can remember was Ben Roethlisberger.
However, the Steelers were not a bad team, they just had a down year and were fortunate that BR was available at the 11th pick.
The one year they have a losing record and fix their QB problem instantly.
Some franchises just seem to have luck on their side.
At one time the Phins had it.
But they didn't suck like some want to tank an entire season. They went from very good to mediocre for one year. :nah:

I'll never root for a loss. But they sure do sting a lot less when youre in purgatory.

Sure has done the Browns good for the last decade +.

Well...To hear the heads on Tv talk the Browns are just about ti turn it around. Like you Ill believe it when I see it but they claim the pieces are there for a good team.

I don't see Miami winning but 1 or 2 more games. Who can they beat? Indy (probably not), Buffalo (will probably split), NE (no), Jacksonville (maybe), Minnesota (nope). And so goes another season of mediocrity. Gase will still be here (the bizarre amount of injuries will bejustification to keep him) and because he does not yet know Tannehill's ceiling, Tannehill will still be his starting QB. Burke will still be here (if Gase used the injury card, Burke can too). Expect more of the same next year folks, more of the same.

Before tonight I would've said yes. But after another string of injuries. No. The team's record over the remaining games won't really tell us much, so losing out is fine with me.
