Gase/ Reporters Comments Etc - The Monday After

It was like 100% certain before the season started the EXCUSES would be flying high if the team underperformed yet again. Sure enough -- that's now the standard line -- even though EVERY TEAM in the NFL has players on IR (several significantly more than Miami)!

Yo. The offense sucked in preseason and started the year sucking -- inconsistent, incapable of scoring, incapable of executing blah blah!

Gase OWNS 100% of that! Along with his highly erratic play calling and --- ya know what they say -- the teams is a REFLECTION of the HC! Well, there ya go.

Bag the excuses.

Please.

BNF.
Please quote the teams that have lost there staring QB, Both guards, both tackles, centre, both WR, DT, DE all at some stage through the year.

It’s not really a question - it’s not close. He played ok in one game. One.

This is ...

Again...show Tannehill vs the Pats, where he stunk so bad that Ostweiler replaced him.

Show the Cincy game as well, when he "threw it away" for a TD...TO THE BENGALS DE.

Agreed except I give a exemtion when the starting QB goes down. Outside of the Pats when you loose the syarting QB your a crippled team. You can't draft every position every draft either. I predicted a 10 6 record with a healthy RT and a 6 10 with RT hurt. We might get 8 8 but thats about it. Sure the defense has struggled and the oline has been a issue but a healthy RT and we win the Bengals game and maybe 1 more at this point.
Sorry this looks like a poor year for a QB to so build that oline at last and get that QB in 20.

OK. I get your (IMO) optimistic "supportive" take -- and I give you that as a fan. However, what you've framed out (IMO) ignores a LOT of facts that tell me otherwise -- such as Gase's "proven record" as a supposed O guru producing an O product on the field that's, best case, erratic -- and worst case , inept (as reflected by the consistent BOTTOM tier ranking in O production categories).

Beyond that -- I distinctly remember the "rust" excuses for Thill when (let's be truthful) he was SUCKING in terms of production as our supposed starting "franchise" QB. I mean he was pretty freakin' awful against the Pats and Bengals -- and all in all certainly NOT showing signs of being a difference maker @QB (which is pretty much his history in the NFL).

I just wanna say -- STOP THE NONSENSE!

This franchise is certifiably sub 500 with Ross -- and there are a number of basic reasons for that FACT! So let's stop making unending excuses for being a suck team and just come to the basic reality that we have "systemic problems" that transcend one player or one silly draft!

Ya know, after a while a pig is just a pig. So take a cold shower and consider the core fact this franchise is a bonafide LOSER under Ross (2009 - 2018 - 70 wins 84 losses)! And I don't see (in my realistic mind) that fact changing as long as the Clown owns the franchise.

No one is calling Osweiler the future. In fact they know he's not. His poor play doesn't make tannehill a good QB. Tannehills first 5 games were the epitome of average for a guy, in year 7, looking to make that leap.

Guys Ryan may not be the future of the team but he's way better than Osweiler. If Matt Moore or Jay Cutler walked through the door tomorrow I;d name either one the starter immediately, assuming Ryan couldn't go. Osweiler is a "play not to lose" QB at best which is exactly the way Gase is calling plays. It's OK to not think Tannehill is the answer but admit he's mush better than Brock. Really, it's OK.

Right. You want me to research reasons for a LOSER!

in the NFL its called "center" BTW.

Dude the line was ruined during the Cincy game and it was over. He won the Titans game, the Raider game and put the Jets away..remember? What has BO done. Do you really think he is the same QB?

You all will have Tanny back in a couple of weeks with most of the starting chump OL. Lets check how it works out. Lets work up some excuses starting now.

Remember when blood in the pee was a criminal offense? Who knew those would be the GOOD times.

And yet do you honestly believe our record is any better had he not missed any time? The offense wouldn’t be as bad but the porous defense was still awful. Still think 5-5 is about accurate with Ryan healthy.

Tannehill had a good 6 quarters to start the year against a flukey delay filled game at home vs. the Titans, and a solid first half vs. the Jets. The next 4 quarters the offense was awful and Gase went into his bag of tricks with his speedy playmakers in the second half vs. Oakland.

The next two games @NE and @Cincy, he continued his brillance on the road with one offensive touchdown and even got pulled for Brock who got our only td @NE.

Brock then starts at home vs. Chicago and leads us to our biggest win of the season and most points.

Hey look, Brock is what he is and Tannehill is a better QB . . . But expectations on dude are too ridiculous. Anytime people wish for him they are wishing for the 2016 version and that guy is not in the building.

After the Bear game has has been awful, I think we have a better shot winning yesterday with Ryan. We haven’t scored a TD in two games, and BO missed another probably easy 7 again yesterday.

What are your expectations? Just don’t turn it over multiple times, might as well throw Fales in.

This reminds me of last year where the skill players were like, you aren’t even giving us a chance.

We weren't winning with Ryan @Houston or @ Gbay. Yeah we score more . . . We win neither.

And I won't guarantee a 30 spot in either the Bears or Lions games.

Ryan a better QB when healthy, and he is paid like one, but results would be very similar.

He did what? Come on Albert. You are better than that. Ryan didn't play awful in those games but to say "he won" those games is a little overboard. We had special teams TDs, WR TDs, WR gimmick plays which is all good but let's not say "he won those games". He played well within his boundaries, avoided mistakes which could cost us the game. He should be applauded for that but we don't have to put him on a pedestal.

He made crucial plays in each of those games to contribute to those wins. He wasn’t playing as well as the pre injury, I get it, but I think he had a chance to play better as the season went on if he stayed healthy.

BO has no chance of playing better and we are all seeing it. I’m not putting Ryan on a pedestal but to say he is equal to Ryan for less money isn’t fair either.
