Miami Dolphins At .500 As Usual With Faint Playoff Hopes

That's what happens when fans/front office say we can't trade the farm for a franchise qb, we have other needs to fill. Keep plugging the holes in the titantic instead of getting on another ship.

How many 'farms' do you want to trade? Those QBs come along infrequently, and there's no assurance the one ANY team picks will be 'that' QB. Trading the farm every year is a loser's bet. (no, you didn't say every year)

Clever. I ask about trading the farm EVERY year and, to protect your position, you try to spin it into "do nothing."
I'll try a different way. How often do you want to bet the farm, and under which conditions?

Kind of a joke :)

Wasnt really a statement towards you as much as what this franchise does in general.

Btw, I dont disagree with you. Its a risk and not one I am sure i want to take THIS year.

Now when Tua comes out in the draft, im all aboard the Mike Ditka philosophy to get him.

I'll admit, I disagree mostly because I HATE trading up ANd I have great fear for 'bet the farm.' Too many average or below QBs ranked as can't miss (e.g., Bortles).

Most of the time I'm with you, but every now and then I think you need to be a gambler, and even then, only for a QB imo.

This year there is just too much talent we could use to be trading away the draft.

Last time I can think of that I would have sold the farm for a single guy is for Andrew Luck. The guy has to be as close to "cant miss" as possible.

That said, moving up isnt necessarily a sin either, as long as the trade compensation is reasonable.

This year, unless we have a gift fall to us, like Tunsil or Minkah did, I'd love to see us trade down (I know, easier said than done) and try to pick up future picks.

Guys like Belichick do that all the time and it gives them the flexibility to move up for a marquise guy, or roll it over into the next draft if they want.

I am telling you now, my biggest fear is that New England buys the #1 pick when Tua comes out. I could see them doing that.

Well, a change of quarterback will likely reenergize the fan base, but the team has a long way to go. Gase is firmly on the hot seat next season.
Next year? He should be on the hot seat now!:bang: If we wait another year, there is going to be another injury, another excuse as to why we can't fire him because he really hasn't got a fair shot. When is this madness going to end? Gase should've already joined Gruden in FFCA(Fired Football Coaches Assoc.)

It could happen depending on who becomes available. John Harbaugh and Pete Carroll are both being discussed as possible coaches who could be fired. I do think Gase gets one more year, though.

Team isn’t doing **** with Brock at the helm. Not to say that Tannehill has been successful either but with him I’d have a glimmer of hope.
