Dolphins Have As Good A Chance As Any Of Seven Remaining Teams For 6th Spot

Call me negative, but I have no desire to go to the playoffs with the way this team has been playing. It could be worse than the 62-10 spanking the Jags put on us years ago. We can't score TD's. We can't stop teams.

I like your incorporation of the word "progress," which I do NOT see the current vintage personifying in any meaningful way. We've stumbled to a 5-5 record and have looked IMO for the most part pretty bad in the process -- certainly NOT what I'd hoped for with our vaunted o wizzer running the show along with a retooled roster ready for prime time.

This team has found a way to win meaningless games along the way and consistently under-perform in games that really make a statement -- one way or another. Until we find a way to PROGRESS beyond that oscillation -- and start playing highly competent, competitive ball in critical games and critical times -- the end result is gonna be more of the same.

That said, I think most fans simply default to the future in order to maintain some degree of hope and optimism about the team -- so we're already looking at the draft and NOT at some irrelevant playoff appearance and subsequent spanking.

Bottom line IMO -- making the playoffs is no great prize. Getting into the MIX with a team that can reasonably compete is what I'm looking for.

So making the playoffs with this roster decimated by injuries and QB situation wouldn't be progress (which is what Gwilson was talking about)?

Then why be on this site? Why be a fan? Pick something else if you can't find joy in a playoff berth. Christ almighty.

I didn’t want to be a downer but some of you already mentioned it. Why make playoffs to get embarrassed in first round. This organization needs to just evaluate what’s on roster and come up with a plan to build a winner. 1974 was a long time ago

Playoffs are better than 6-10. Get in and have a chance is all I ever want.

If Miami were to somehow win a playoff game...oh god think of the massacre of going to Kansas City for a playoff game. Kansas City probably would be favored by 20 lol

The only time you start rooting for losses is when you are mathematically eliminated from playoffs (and only then if you need draft position, which, well, we always do). Until then it is okay to be critical and even say you don't think they can make it. So long as you still cheer for the win as unrealistic as it may be!

2014 panthers went to the playoffs with a losing record. They also won a playoff game vs the cardinals. Then had an incredible run the following year that took them to the super bowl.
Playoff experience will do this team some good.

There’s really no way to back into the playoffs with this schedule and the teams we are competing with for the final spot. So if (ha ha) we do make the playoffs we will only do so playing good football. So yeah I want to win out and make the playoffs ( ha ha).

Correct, but, as I said, there can't be a second appearance until there's a first.

And I get the venting about a "complete rebuild," in fact I encourage it if it makes you feel better, but you know that's a delusion, right?

FYI -- I don't need encouragement nor arm chair drug store psychology -- so how about sticking to the SUBJECT and leave the personal crap out?

If this franchise falls on its face the rest of the year I don't think any possibility is a delusion. That said, I thoroughly expect more of the same (lame) as long as Ross owns the team.

the team that has the 'most control' are the Browns. They play Bengals twice and Ravens once already having beaten the ravens the first time. They also play the Broncos. If they won those 4 games they would control tie-breakers. Does not mean that they will but they are an up and coming team with baker mayfield

We can't have as good a chance as anybody when we start out as 9.5 point underdog
Man when the season started, the colts were looking like one of the worst teams in the league and Miami was 3-0. Both teams have had the complete opposite of results in injuries since then. Miami started out healthy, Colts started out banged up. Now Miami is decimated and the colts are getting healthy
