Positive Thoughts -6th Slot Is Wide Open

Side note - IMO the Chargers are about to start their free fall back to mediocrity like they always do. They have had an extremely soft schedule so far, but they have Steelers, Bengals, Chiefs, Ravens, Broncos coming up. I fully expect this most overrated team in football (once again) to start showing their asses the rest of the way.

If that happens, then both wildcard spots are up for grabs.

What??? A team OTHER THAN Miami is a pretender?

Chargers have had a winning season 4 out of last 6 seasons.

Take an outside objective opinion for just a few minutes. Forget you are a Fin Fan. Imagine you liked the Bears or Seahawks. Of all of those teams tied for that spot, how would you handicap it?

yeah LOL thats rich us calling the Chargers pretenders. No self awareness.

Seriously dude? In those winning seasons they were 9-7, and you are using that to debate my statement of mediocrity???
Is it an itch inside your brain that compels you to argue with people, for no reason other than to be a contrarian?

My point - every year the media gets hyped up about the Chargers, and every year they are just another team. I expect that their tougher remaining schedule will show who they really are - a mediocre team. I might be wrong about that, but if I'm not, the wildcard will will get a bit more interesting.

Spot on op. 18th slot coming in missing our starting qb last 5 games.

I'd rather be 7-3 like the chargers at this point than 5-5. If we group in the chargers NONE of them are powerhouses. However a 7-3 record at this point is better than the 5-5 and down other teams. I looked at the chargers schedule and at worse see them going 3-3 over the next six.

The game on Sunday makes it officially a month since we scored an offensive TD. Let's take care of that before we dream of getting blown out in the wildcard game.

There are 7 teams in the hunt for the 6th slot. NONE of them is a powerhouse. Dolphins have as good a chance as any of them. Dolphins schedule is not super hard.

As Bill Parcells always said 'once you get to the dance anything can happen'.

We need more positive thinking on this board.

I'd settle for just more rational thinking, but you are right. We do need more positive "Fan" thinking and less hamster dribble.

You actually dream of getting blown out in a playoff game?
That speaks volumes!

Don't they usually go hand in hand?

Yeah but they aren't mutually exclusive. Playing with all the confidence in the world won't help if coaching, schemes, and talent aren't up to snuff. So many other teams are so far ahead of the curve compared to the fins that it's hard to see a silver lining.

But like J says, it doesn't take long to turn a team around if the right pieces are in place. The Dolphins are severely lacking in pieces.
