Did The Miracle In Miami Change Something?

We will always remember the play but over time our memory of it will fade and in 10..15 years I doubt anybody could put the date or year on it unless the play has some impact. If you are in your 20s or 30s you may not know what I am talking about but if you are in your 40s or 50s you know exactly what I am talking about.
Hook-and-lateral play with Duriel Harris and Tony Nathan. 1981 playoff game versus the Chargers. I can still recall that off the top of my head and we didn't even win that game. And the Chargers were never much of a rival to us.

It would be nice if that gave us momentum for the rest of the season. I wanna see us in the playoffs with Tannehill at QB

for sure. pleeeeeeeze. and it would make that play even more epic.

just dreaming, but could you imagine winning a Super Bowl this year? That play would take on a life of its own from here to eternity.

Yes!!! This play will mark the beginning of the end of the patriots reign!! It has begun!! Our rise is coming!!! Phins up!!

You are right. A dynasty doesn't occur over night. It evolves with improved play across the board occurring in fits and starts, then becoming more consistent and reliable.

I feel we will make it to the playoffs. When that happens we should stop and take a breath. It will mean we made the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years. It means we have a really good coach, an effective front office and a bunch of but hurt Hamsters complaining about what has been accomplished and how it has been accomplished it. We weren't following their script, so we are wrong! Either that or they could be Jets trolls. Nothing else makes any sense.

I can’t shake this feeling.

The Indian Burial Ground curse.
The ******* snowplow.
Culpepper over Brees.
Ricky Williams “retiring.”
John Riggins on 4th down.
Saban The Liar.
Tom Olivadotti.
The Sea Of Hands.

Decades of bad moments.

I cannot remember, in my life, a moment of Dolphins typical frustration turning into a moment of absolute joy like what happened Sunday.

There are moments that turn franchises around. The Tuck Rule. The Immaculate Reception. The Catch. Terrell Davis. Beast Mode. The Herschel Walker Trade.

Was this that moment? Have the football gods decided we have suffered enough?

Probably not. But...I can’t shake this feeling.
Times ………………………………………. they are a changin'.

Winning this week in Minnesota will be huge.. A loss will bring us back down to earth, but a win on the road against a good team, after the miracle play, will make people take notice.

I'm not so sure.

When we beat the Titans many posters were saying they were not a good team, wait until we play some good teams. Those folks won't take notice but they will undoubtedly make some kind of claim that the win was a so what, we should have won kind of thing.

2 things here ray. we make the playoffs and 50% of the posters are still going to throw out 3rd down stats or +/- stats to argue with you about that really good coach statement and 2) hamster and butt don't go in the same sentence....its gerbil

What ever happens, you got to admit that the last 2 games we had a little magic and improbabilities happen! The Bills game with Clay dropping an easy game winning TD. Then the Pats an easy missed FG and PAT by a very good kicker, Brady's miscue at the end of the half that cost them points, and then the miracle finish! It is good to be on the other side of these for a change!

The play itself is so much more fabulous than the plays you mention.

Remains to be seen if it has any ramifications beyond that one win.

Either way, I'm not moving on from that play probably ever.

I agree, what happened this past Sunday may at best take a long time before we see it again, and at worst, never, ever again.

True, but I see stats as more of an analysis of the results plays, not their causes, which requires a bit of presumption.

As far as gerbils as opposed to hamsters, you may be right. Gerbils do have longer tails, longer snouts and are more "rat" like. That would be more appropriate, but Hamsters sounded more like haters. It's hard to discard the value of onomatopoeia in a case like this.

I find it interesting that you focused on the failures of the opponents rather then the accomplishments of the Dolphins. Isn't that more likely to be the view point of the opponents fans rather then the Dolphins fans?

Some here prefer the hamster, it a better fit.

You forgot to add the 14 point spot on blocked punts. Take that away and they still don’t have enough to win.

lurking that makes it sound even worse that hamsters are a better fit. he mentioned hamsters and butthurt. I joked about gerbils because I've heard of homosexual or just weird menu sticking gerbils up their butt, but I guess that really wouldn't make them butt hurt. mine would be hurting like hell though.

and as far as Gase goes, I like him. my horse in Red Dead Redemption I named Gase, so im "hitched" to him as far as a play on words ;-)
