If Not Jim Then Who?

All this is probably academic. It seems Gase will most likely be back unless Ross brings in a new and good GM that could be allowed to bring his own HC.

well, it seems it won't be this guy

Ravens in extension talks with John Harbaugh

The Ravens are in extension talks with coach John Harbaugh.

Baltimore released a statement that confirmed Harbaugh will be back. There were rumblings the Ravens could move on from Harbaugh, but lights-out defense and a soft schedule over the last few weeks saved his job. Harbaugh's contract runs out after next year, so we'd expect a short-term extension to avoid lame duck status. Harbaugh figures to be on the spot again in 2019.

May not be a popular vote in here but I’m all for either Zac Taylor from the Rams who used to be Ryan Tannehills QB coach or Press Taylor from the Eagles.

I also like Josh McDaniels. Wanted him before the hire of Gase.

Maybe he’ll draft Tim Tebow.

Lamar Jackson saved his job, they had the best defense in football with Flacco and still had a losing record.

I don’t know if it’s possible , but I would like one year of Gese and Jack del Rio as defensive Coordinator and see if it works.
It’s known that Gase dosen’t gets involved in defense, so basically our DC is the top dog in the defense side, so we have to do a lot better than a glorified position coach like we have right now, we need a second Hed Coach in the defense that knows how to prepare for games and adjust to necessity

There may be more truth in this post than people realize.

John Harbaugh isn't being fired. However, they are almost certainly fielding trade offers for him right now.

You don't come out and say that the team and coach have agreed it's best to part ways in 2019 and then a couple of weeks later, after realizing that he is the hottest head coaching commodity in football before he's even been fired, and in an off-season when Urban Meyer will theoretically be available that you're not going to fire him.

The way I see it, you don't basically announce that you and your coach have decided to break up and you're going to move on from him after the season, and then like three weeks later go "WELL NOT SO FAST, GUYS" after realizing that every single NFL team that is looking for a coach (and a number of college programs) are suddenly hot and heavy over a Super Bowl winning coach with a great reputation and a pedigree name. I think they grossly misjudged the market for John Harbaugh and after realizing that they can actually get compensation for him, will attempt to trade him for draft picks.
