Alot Of Rumors That We Moving On From Tannehill.

foles has performed at an elite level multiple times and sustained it for several games in a row. we could only be so lucky to have a qb with that capability. I do find it sad how we have a plethora of posters bemoan the fact we don't have a good qb, but they poo poo every reasonable option out there.
Not sure if serious? Are you talking about '12,'14,'15 and '17 where he didnt post a better rating than 81.4? So what you're really saying is that if the Fins were to sign him, they'd get the 2013 version(5 years ago) or the 2017 version on a SB team(3 games)...

Nick Foles looks extremely system based QB. He didnt fair so well outside of Philly.

2019 is the year to fix the team (DE and OL). 2020 is the year to get our franchise QB.

Whoever the best pass rushing DE is in free agency, get him.

QB....get a later round guy for development. Osweiler can start, im cool with that.
I agree here but then why not just deal with Tannehill 1 more year

you clearly have more time to look at stats than I do, but if I were looking at his stats, I'd start here and not espn. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/F/FoleNi00/gamelog/ second, at least foles has had postseason success, and foles is at least as good as tannehill, without the wear and tear of 250 sacks over 90 games. If you want to toss out foles worst games and compare him to an equal number of tannehill's best games, foles is going to win that little contest.

Foles is benefiting from good coaching and a food scheme. We have neither...

No interest in Foles. Maybe due us to getting a philly backup qb before and watching it fail terribly or maybe just because Foles is just a great backup and not a 16 game starter, to me.

I say draft a guy. Draft 2 if needed. Sucks that this season is really weak for qb, but the best way to improve the team is to get cheap rookie qbs and use that saved money towards building a team around him.
sorry I don't buy this thinking, we've also drafted a first round QB before and it worked out, and then it didn't. should we avoid drafting QBs in the first round just because we drafted one that didn't work out?

here's a cool tool on PFR, you can compare players side by side... I dont use espn either...

thanks. even less effort, I'd definately trade a beat up broken down model from 2012 for a less used same or greater V6 model until I can afford the V8.
The way I see it, Foles, Tannehill, and pretty much every QB from top 7 to top 20 is basically the same guy... If you absolutely want to move on from that guy, then go a different way... Either go for rookie upside(draft) or over the hill greatness(Peyton Manning in Denver)...

that's the thing though, two months ago, everyone was all about waiting until 2020 because there were zero qbs worth taking a chance on in this upcoming draft. Now, we have a buncha "happy adjusters" suddenly convinced that some of these guys are worth drafting. what changed?

I'm not saying they are wrong or right, i'm just saying that if it was an easy science of picking the right guy for the right system and having the right luck with player development and injuries, and the ball bouncing the right way, every team would be able to do it.

You pick wrong and you're on the other side of a 3 - 6 year wait on a QB that won't get you over the hump. Point being, if we had a qb who took less costly sacks and still delivered the wow, we'd have foles and not tannehill.

No way to Foles, great backup but not a 16 game starter. Guy could have left this year to be starter if he really wanted to, but he chose to remain a backup which tells me all I need to know. Don't want to see Tannehill under center next year either. Please draft a QB and let Fales compete for the starting job.

meh I don't know his reasons for staying, I can't fault a guy for wanting to stay with a team and city he loves, after all Marino had a choice and chose to retire rather than put on a vikings uniform.

We'll just get this out of the way first because there's a good discussion to have beyond the QBs one... Lets just agree to disagree on our evaluation of Foles vs Tannehill... I think the only times Foles outplayed Tannehill was when he was on a SB roster... I think Tannehill is better and you dont and thats fine...

Now what? The Fins dont NEED to make a decision at QB right now, there are holes everywhere on this roster. If in the 1st round, they dont get an option at QB they like, there will certainly be players that they can use and NEED at other spots, think Minkah. If in the 1st round, they can grab a DE, CB, FS or even a MLB with elite potential, then great, QB can wait another year.... Because in the big picture, Fins need a better roster first and foremost before they have an urgent NEED at QB... The window isnt next year...

At least thats the way I see it...

I'd agree with the t0o many holes to fill and we won't have the cap to do it after cutting tannehill this season regardless, best we keep a few of our future talent (#25) and let some of the dead weight and soon to be paid more than they bring talent at the door. If anything maybe we cut a buncha players that won't be here in two years, eat the cap this season, tank, and grab a 1st round qb. might as well run with fales, or watch tannehill get killed.
