Mike Tannenbaum Reassigned / Fired Mega Thread

If you're a confident man who believes in yourself and the job you can do, then you will walk into a mess and feel a sense of accomplishment when you fix it. The reason Harbaugh supposedly wants out of Baltimore is that there is a lot of friction between him, the front office, and the ownership. Kind of like what happened with Gase here. I think the feeling (mutually) would probably be that since Ross loves the Harbaughs so much, they would be able to avoid that sort of thing.

Sounds logical and convincing to me. Here's hoping Ross shows John some love and offers him Gruden style money.

Unless we're keeping him as a tackling dummy wtf is the point?

Considering I have no real control over the team and all I can do is respond to Ross' decisions, I have no problem keeping Grier. I think he has done a great job with our drafts and finding talent. And we don't know how much of the FA moves were his or someone else.

So, I'm perfectly fine with entrusting Grier with having say over personnel, drafts and such. I think he is one of the few gems that was in the building.

I like keeping Grier. Even though I wanted a complete house cleaning, I feel good with Grier in charge of the Front Office.

Where are the photos this guy has on Ross and a pedophile ring?(kidding) How in the Hell does T-Dumb not get thrown to the curb? I know we are going to find out that he is still going to be part of football operations and he going to screw things up again! THIS NIGHTMARE IS NEVER GOING TO END!:bang:

This sucks. Time for another New York retread at HC.

I agree with everyone who says Ross is the problem, he might be a genius in business, but he's an idiot when it comes to running a (winning) NFL franchise. I'm more convinced than ever that his primary motivation is generating money through events at the stadium, and getting to run in celebrity circles. His focus has never been on making us champions.

How in the **** does Tannebaum still have a job with this team, ANY job? If my best friend in the whole world had produced this poor of results, we might stay friends, but I sure as hell wouldn't be keeping them on the payroll.

As usual, I'm disgusted with our inability to actually clean house, and try to really rebuild in a meaningful way.

This is pretty much a firing without actually firing him. Tannenbaum will not be involved with anything regarding football. Ross and Garfinkle decided that they want to give Grier a chance to run everything something he really didnt get to do the last couple years as GM then sink or swim.

Grier is changing the scouting up though. Some of the guys Tannenbaum brought in are gone

Ok Tannenbaum reassigned and Grier promoted is a huge failure. Starting to feel like those who have said this team will never be successful until Ross sells it are right.

You're darn right we're right!

we should reassign Tbum to somewhere outside the organization.

he doesn't bring anything to our table. if we want a new regime, a new direction....hand the keys to grier fine but get tbum out of the building.

seriously what the ****ing ****

Dolphins announced today that GM Chris Grier will oversee football operations reporting directly to owner Stephen Ross. Executive vice president of football operations Mike Tannenbaum has been reassigned within the organization.
Hopefully he has been reasigned to scout players on Curacao or Bermudas, or to oversee UK trips or something like that.

Yep, the uproar from folks that wanted Tannenbaum gone is unfounded. He's gone from a football organization hierarchy. Ross is taking care of him because he's been a good company man and that is Ross' way as Wanny has pointed out.

The more I read into it I think he's gone in a short time.....they're just giving him the chance to find another job somewhere without coming right out and firing him (not that he deserves such respect but..).

Position changes like this never work out.....he was in charge and now will have to answer to the guy he was formally in charge of.....I don't know why he'd even stay or let them say he was "reassigned" since any of that looks like a demotion and they're just sticking him somewhere to tolerate him. Any professional/GM worth his salt would bow out gracefully of such a situation but not Tannenbaum....shows what a joke he is and that he was not worthy of a high office position.
