Tannehill's Trade Value

What teams would you say would actually do this trade with Miami for a guy with RTs resume and injury history? I can’t think of a single team.

I truthfully haven't analyzed the QB situations around the league . . . .but there has to be more than a few teams that need a potential starter, don't wanna tie themselves to the 2019 draft and don't wanna dish out a bunch of guaranteed money.

Hell u could trade for him and cut him, the contract allows u to do that but he is an attainable option.

Obviously the injury history will have to check out, but if it does, he is absolutely tradeable. Some team will see his talent and think they can put him in a better situation than Miami was able to do.

I think he is done, personally.

I’d love to be able to trade him, but coming off two injury riddled seasons coupled with the lowest rating of any QB in 2018 with enough stats and starts to register, I would venture teams will wait for the Fins to release him.

Can we just wait to see where Gase goes and just trade him there? I'm sure they would then want him. Probably get a 1st round pick for him if Gase has any say in the roster cause he is highly sought after. I'm sure they saw his work here and thought "Let's get that guy". Probably gonna give him complete control like Belichick in NE.

he would be worth a 5th round pick at best he can't even throw for 200 yds in most of his games

Good point. If Gase brought Cutler and Osweiler then RT is a slam dunk.

Yeah it's possible.

I just think the terms of the current deal are so favorable that sending a pick to have a look at a potential starter at QB could be attractive to teams.

Less to do with Tannehill specifically more to do with the idea of getting a starter without having to tie yourself to guaranteed money, having other teams in negotiations and it not working out costing only a day 3 pick.

Again, more is involved but I do think he has trade value.

Only way he has trade value is if there are more than one suitor. Otherwise the team waits for his eventual release. We need a few suckers.

This guy will have set our franchise back a decade when it’s all said and done. If we can get literally anything for him, we should.

Remember the days when a 92 was a pro bowl QBR? What’s weird is how his QBR regressed back to the norm from well over 100 - all in the last 3 games. He wound up right where he normally winds up.

1) We won’t save it, we just postpone parts of the cap hit to 2020.
2) You could potentially cut him NOW AND designate him a post June 1 cut which has the same effect as cutting him after June 1.
3) Putting my GM hat - or rather Coach hat - on, I want to win football games so I’ll keep him for 2019 and try to get his eventual replacement in the draft.

These 2 don't go along with each other especially if we're looking for a serious franchise QB for the future. Why do we want to win games in a meaningless season? Short term feel good points at the cost of the future?

JDW, I appreciate your optimism, but I just don’t see it. Did you watch the past SEVERAL weeks? Tannehill is just a deer in headlights out there. He looks lost. This is more than Gase’s inane play calling. Much of the scoring this year were gadget plays, broken plays, or set up by the defense. I think almost 2 years of no play time just wasted his skills and reactions to where he is simply no longer a viable starter in this league.

He will be released due to his contract, as his future is most likely a backup in this league.
Imo, The main issue with tannehill and why he failed is because he doesn’t see or feel the rush while his focus is on his downfield responsibility..

You simply cannot perform consistent enough, nor win, especially on the road in hostile environments, hence the poor road record, and worse, 3rd down conversion percentage.
