Mike Tannenbaum Reassigned / Fired Mega Thread

Matthew Cannata is reporting via twitter, that Jeff Darlington on the Joe Rose show, this morning, stated Mike Tannenbaum is mostly responsible for the problems pertaining to the Gase Situation. Darlington also reported that Ross meddled in some decisions, which shocked me. It appears the Suh situation was on Ross.

Which would make sense as to why Gase started giving Ross the cold shoulder and why at the end he seemed to want to force his way out...

who the Hell is this Antone Privy you speak of taking Mike T's position ? LMFAO

LMFAO! I was thinking the same exact thing!

I thought the Steelers replaced Mike Tomlin with some guy named Antone Privy!

Antone Privy? Stinch?

I feel overmedicated reading this thread.

Antone: priceless
Privy: toilet
Stinch: smells

he’s either somewhere in a ‘priceless smelly sh*tter’ or he’s just a ‘smelly sh*te’.. which is priceless!
Sorry about that hit the wrong key.:out:

Stinch is is in the Urban Dictionary, but Privy is an actual word. One out of three ain't too bad.:wink:

I know "privy" is an actual word, but thought you might have been going for something else, lol.

3 years ago Ross hired Gase there was rumors Tannenbaum wanted someone else. Does anyone remember who it was?
No. It was stated pretty clearly last time that while Dan Campbell was the interim coach, Tannenbaum did all the research to identify the best coaching prospects. Then when the minor season concluded, Mr Ross and a small team of about 5 interviewed the final shortlist. It was stated multiple times that Gase was the unanimous selection. From memory, the group who interviewed the shortlist included - owner Stephen Ross, Dolphins President Tom Garfinkel, Vice Chairman Matt Higgins, Tannenbaum and Grier.
They had a process and were off to a flying start because Tannenbaum had been secretly researching the options for months.

Tannenbaum, with the team since 2015, asked for and received something of a quiet sendoff, according to a Dolphins source. He will not be working for the team again. By the time the draft comes in April, it will be obvious he is no longer with the organization, the source said.
Owner Stephen Ross will continue to pay Tannenbaum’s salary for another two years because that’s the amount of time remaining on his contract.

I called it when Gase was fired....that Tannebum was going to be gone before long and that Ross was showing him some kind of respect ( that he doesn't deserve) and would allow him to leave quietly a bit later instead of outright firing him (which he DOES deserve).

"Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that Tannenbaum has essentially been fired, but with more of a face-saving exit."

“He will not be working for the team again,” Salguero writes. “By the time the draft comes in April, it will be obvious he is no longer with the organization.”

Don’t know how true this is considering it’s in the comments section, but that’d be pretty damn funny. His carousel to destroy all the teams in the AFCE is almost complete. Just needs to go to the Bills as well.

Dan Quinn.
No - I think you have your years mixed up. Dan Quinn was appointed by the Falcons in 2015. Adam Gase was appointed by the Dolphins in 2016.
The guys that made the final list of interviews against Gase included Mike Shanahan, Mike Smith, Terrel Austin the former Detroit Defensive Coordinator. Gase was the unanimous choice of Ross and his key people (incl Garfinkel, Higgins, Tannenbaum and Grier).
