Odds Favor Darren Rizzi In Miami Dolphins Head Coach Search

I think it’s a bad job because of the power structure more than anything else.

I mean why agree to that if you don’t have to.

I’m sure miami will get turned down by someone or maybe multiples over it that we will never hear the truth about.

We will get the this was plan a all along media release trash.

The other reason I think it’s a bad job. South beach. I fully believe that life style being always right around the corner has effected things on the football field.
Great post!!!!
Especially the life style being always right around the corner affecting the product on the field.

John Harbaugh leaves Baltimore I bet you he gets full control wherever he goes.

Otherwise why even leave Baltimore with a young qb and the top d in football.

He’s no dummy. He already plays to his defense like he should

There aren't 8 good coaches available, and the good ones will gravitate towards places with QB's in place or being developed. How many jobs are available?

"players love it" also means there are lots of distractions... you want a place that will attract FAs. It’s a positive not a negative.

Most owners are patient, most are wealthy...there are only a handful of exceptions... so you agree that we are on right side of things.

30-40 year old history means nothing, the Lions and Browns have great history too. You rather play in Minnesota or Miami. Cmon.

I may be in the minority, but I wouldn't mind it being Rizzi. He's respected, he's fiery, he's not "green" to the coaching world, and there have been successful ST coaches turned head coaches. I'm fairly high on Fangio too and think we have a shot at bringing him in.

Well, as a one year holding pattern, I guess I'm fine with that. Might as well see what he can do. I'm on record as preferring Vic Fangio, but he's the 2nd most likely according to Vegas … so hey, maybe it will happen?

I read multiple articles that said he wasn't interested in the Miami job, but I never read that we asked for an interview. Has it been confirmed that we requested an interview and he refused? There's a big difference there.

You probably right. I was wrong. In any case he is not coming to coach the Dolphins, there is therefore 0 chance, yet there are odds listed. That was the point.

I think it's fair to assume some things go on out of the scope of reporting (like a simple phone call) and

it would certainly seem mister Campbell is either playing hard to get or more likely

middle finger.

I have zero problem with Rizzi. I laugh at everyone who thinks they know how a first time head coach will perform. I get an even bigger chuckle out of those who can magically predict college coaches who will be good in the NFL.

I notice in a lot of your posts, that you don't seem to like older coaches.
What's up with that? You don't think some 60 year olds have intensity and tenacity?
One day YOU may make it there...…..you'd better have BOTH!

I generally don't have an issue with older coaches. In fact, on a contending team I typically prefer them. However, this is clearly a rebuilding project that will take up to 2-3 years, possibly longer. We are going to be a very young team. I don't know if a guy whwill be 61 when the 2019 season starts is the right man for this particular job.

I want a coach who is going to hit his prime when the team is ready to respond.

I wonder what guarantees Rizzo will be offered if he accepts the job. Seems like there is a good chance we finish toward the bottom of the league record wise, will Rizzo be promised a second year even if he goes 2-14?

If Rizzi does end up being hired, I have some ideas on who he could try and bring in as his DC; but, I honestly don't have any ideas as to the OC job. Would he stay with Loggains and see how he does as the playcaller, or can/will he bring someone new in. That's one thing I wonder about with Rizzi as a candidate.
