Looks Like Harbaugh Is Off The Table

Somebody just made a point that his handling of the QB position on Sunday proved that there was no doubt he was returning to the Ravens. Makes sense. If he was out the door anyways, he wouldn't care that pulling Jackson could have affected him in the future.

Could be a squeeze to get Miami to fork over what Baltimore wants. It’s kinda hard to believe that a few days ago he was going to be available, then the ravens lose and then they want to give him an extension.

Sounds suspicious

Or it sounds like a team not in love with any of the other coaching options and had to reevaluate their love for their current coach.

If the relationship wasn’t sour, you can mend fences, even if there was interest to go in a different direction.

I think the Ravens changed their tune in December when his market started heating up.

Why believe any of these “sources” statements? A smart team isn’t going to relay its strategy to one these idiot NFL “reporters”. Unless it’s with the hope of upping their return. You throw out a rumor that Harbaugh & the Ravens are negotiating an extension, and maybe a character like Ross gets more desperate.

Dumb teams do the opposite. Like the Dolphins dropping hints in the media that Tannehill won’t be back in 2019.

Well if Harbaugh is resigning with the Ravens, Dolphins should at least interview

Dan Martindale....

Rizzi, give me a break...

This is a very good thing. Fate needed to save Ross from himself and a wild goose that ultimately led to nothing (or worse, it leading to SOMETHING and this team forfeiting picks).

Like drafting a QB, this team needs to keep trying and have an iron stomach for being able to ship off people when they don't work out. The Harbaugh choice always came off to me as a team admitting they were completely and utterly unable to find talent. Harbaugh, Fangio and Munchak all being crossed off of the list on the same day speaks to the team needing a coach from off the beaten path that wants to prove themselves and is willing to suffer (initially) to do so.

I think only people here thought he was an option. Not even sure why

Just let Rizzi and Osweiler go out and lose 13 games and then reevaluate everything again next offseason. Even Grier is not safe in 2020, I could see him, just like Rizzi being one year captains on a sinking ship.

That's probably the best option so we'll do the opposite. Hire a coordinator as a first year head coach & win 6-8 games the next three years.

I get it. As a fan, this is the scenario we want, but Rizzi is not stupid. Why risk the rest of his coaching career for this team? How does this help him unless he is guaranteed 3 to 5 years to right this ship, and how do you trust Ross on his word if that happens. Not fair to Rizzi. The guy has been a solid coach for us. He has a future in this league which is jeopardized if he signs up for this.

This. Only reason not to put Flacco in was not to hurt Jackson's confidence going forward, knowing it's his job next year.

Foolish on his part. Tying your future to that kid who can't read a defense or throw the ball accurately is a terrible mistake. If I were HC and they said this is the guy you're stuck with for the next four years I'd have been out of there quick. John should ask Mike Shanahan how that worked out.
