Jim Caldwell Expected To Join Dolphins Staff

This makes sense if done well. Gives Flores somebody to communicate with who has been in the role and has that experience. Gives the OC somebody to help them with perspective .

To me it's kinda like bringing in a vet QB to help mentor a young guy. He might not be on the field much but he can help them understand their choices and actions better .

funny some of y'all were loving the boy wonder Gase hire and he hadn't done ****, Caldwell is a proven NFL head coach who's won games and he is instantly a bum. lets hope he is there to provide experience to this young first time coach, thats what ***** boy Gase needed

Agree with the Gase brain farts.....

But are you really reading the early responses to the Possible Caldwell signing ?????
seems to be going over your head.....to clarify at this point looks like the board is in favor...

And Gase needs a brain cell transplant not a experienced coach there for him to also ignore....
He's stuck thinking he knows what he doesn't know.. .. Jets, lol, Think its our T-bomb pay back...

I think Caldwell is underrated and it definitely makes me feel better if he's part of the staff, though im still far from sold on Flores.

My biggest concern however is getting experienced playcallers on both sides of the ball. If Caldwell isn't going to call the plays I still want to see someone hired who has experience doing so at this level.

Will wait until this is official, but have to say I'm thrilled to be bringing in some experience. Caldwell is a good coach and has a lot of HC experience that will be beneficial if we are going with a first time Head Coach.

Well with Caldwell taking on an associate job and us looking for a younger guy to groom. I wonder if jim Bob cooter or Ben mcadoo would be interested. Jim Bob is likely because him and Caldwell had top 10 scoring offense together

A young head coach who acknowledges that he is new at this and isn't arrogant?

That's pretty refreshing

Plus he has one of the greatest names ever

Love the Caldwell pickup, and love even more that Flores recognizes he may need a younger, more innovative OC to call plays. Caldwell was an underrated HC, and having him already would give us more experience on the staff than we had the last 3 years.

I'm not a big Jim bob cooter fan. His offense actually reminds me a lot of Gase's. Stafford regressed under him as well

Really excited by this move. Caldwell can provide some experience and quality leadership for the offense.

Reactions: A1.
I was reading the nfl.com article on this where it mentioned Flores would be "defacto defensive coordinator". They may just be speculating but not sure how i feel about that after Gase and his OC duties.

Well maybe we are looking a lil bit at what the rams are doing. Mcvay was hired as HC to be the de facto OC, and they hired Wade Phillips to help w/ head coaching role.

Not saying that's what we are doing, but it's a thought. Regardless what we end up doing I love having experience like Caldwell in there

While I’m not eastatic about the hire I do like it more than I dislike it.
