How Much Time Should Flores Get To Turn This Team Around?

BB retires from coaching New England at the end of this season, and he decides to take a year off. Next off season, the Dolphins hire him as head coach, and at the presser, all he says is "sit back, and watch me fix this ****!"...soo I say one year!

You should expect progress by year 3 with any coach.

It is hard to put a time-table on this mess. We should demand for a Coach who motivate a team, have them prepared, understand basic clock management, make adjustments when the team is getting the crap beat out, half time adjustments and be able to coach up players. This is the minimum I would expect. If the coach can demonstrate these traits in the 1st year (regardless of won/loss record) then and only then should he have the opportunity to coach additional years.

3 1/2 years......need to see improvement in 3rd year, finish on a strong note.

I don’t care about wins and losses the first couple of years. I better see player development and consistent execution on the field. If the TEs still suck year 2 or Miami finishes in the 30s in converting a 3rd down..its time to start looking for a new coach. Pre snap penalties still an issue, Miami continue to set records for yards allow...Flores won’t be in Miami long.

If you're in position to draft Lawrence at some point, well that'll be a strong indicator that you have to A) Draft him and B) Change your Head Coach

Well I'm still vaguely hoping that Ross is secretly a genius who is plotting a way to tank under Grier to get the No1 pick then find our GM, HC and QB of the future all in one offseason....

Otherwise he probably gets 3 years/whatever time it takes for the axe to finally fall on the scouting staff....and they really are running out of other people to blame these days.

Maybe Grier manages to say it was all Parcells/Ireland's/Sporano's/Hickey's/Philbin's/Tannenbaum's/Gase's/Flores's fault but after that surely Ross has to start wondering if perhaps his long term scouting staff deserve just a brief hint of accountability over the shitty rosters?

I say 3 years is good to see major improvement - consistency and identity at least. One thing about Ross is he has been patient.

4 or 5 years.

I'm assuming next year is a complete write off.

Like I said, I want to see some improvement. We don't have to be world beaters, but we better be improving.

I get it but again it depends on who is around. If Bess, Hartline, and Naanee are your WRs you shouldn’t expect a single positive thing.

Four years. The first two are freebies because we are in rebuild mode. We just want to establish the inevitable low baseline with all the rif raf he’s inheriting and then show progress that we are on the right trajectory.
