As of the this year, our OL looks like.....

LT Tunsil
LG Sitton
C Kilgore - Jake Brendel (RFA)
RG Jessie Davis (ERFA)
RT (no one under contract)

Doubt that Sitton comes back. Not sure about Kilgore returning but he is not good enough or long term. Davis is not good enough. Brendal is injury prone. Swanson is a FA and not good enough. How much money is James willing to take once he hits the market and figures out someone will pay him 10+ per year?

It won't matter much who we put behind center with this line. Spending #13 or higher on a QB? I would have to have a very strong conviction about whoever that is....

If you take a QB at 13, how do you fill all of the other holes? You gonna get the rookie killed in year 1 or sacrifice the defense? We've all seen too many rookie QB's fail without an adequate team around them. I just don't see management spending a bundle in FA to fill the gaps with good enough players.

LG, RG, C, RT, DT, DEx2, CB....

If the FO loves one of the QB's AND he happens to fall then maybe he sits for a year until they can protect him.

The only reason I can think of that would prevent Sitton from coming back is if his rotator cuff hasn't healed properly. No need to create an immediate need there if we don't have to. Same with Kilgore. Keep them and James and focus on depth and we're fine. I'm not pausing the rebuild, which only matters when you get a QB, for an elite line.

I'm just going off what has been "reported" about the new philosophy in Miami and what the owner said. That wouldn't seem to include keeping a 33 year old player who's body is breaking down. Especially when this was an Adam Gase import from Chicago. We don't even know if these guys will be running the same blocking schemes. We could end up with a man/power scheme like NE.

Kilgore will be 32.

What are you willing to pay James at RT? There has to be a limit for a player like him who has been inconsistent and injury prone.

I want us to take Drew Lock this year. See what happens. If need be, try again next year, and the next.

Wow!! I am shocked that there is yet another post about the same thing that has already been discussed ad nauseum on this board since the season ended. :dead:
Really you’re shocked? How often do you log on? I’m not shocked your post. It adds nothing as well.

Trevor Lawrence in 2021, the Dolphins can add Foles or Flacco now or more likely tank for the next three years in which case they may have the overall number one pick in the draft to select Lawrence.

There's no way they are going to be able to address all the holes they already have right now. It doesn't make any sense to create even more holes where they simply aren't needed right now. They are still going to need to field full team. Not sure a rotator cuff tear is "breaking down," but whatever. The real problem is a lack of depth. Same goes for Kilgore.

I'm willing to pay him whatever the market demands. The salary cap doesn't keep me up at night. A good GM can manage that kind of salary. If we don't have a good GM, then none of this matters anyways. "injury prone" Man, we really need to draft more of those invincible players in a contact sport.

Totally 100% agree. I didn't like the cut and paste move with Sitton -- who was ALREADY showing signs of wear and then

he shows up fat and (shocking) gets blown out 1st game. The other band aids along the OL were symptomatic of the

dumb a$$es making decisions re Gs and etc. (mostly Gase IMO). It's still a simple game in so many ways.

If you're really strong on the LOS you've got something "REAL" to build on. If not, you're building on pipe dreams.

In the NE model -- I fully expect the OL and DL to be a very high priority in the formative stages of our "rebuild."

It's just a basic element to constructing a winning program.

we had this guy already (5'9"/190)... he was Pat White.. 'member?
Just because they are similar doesn't mean they were wired the same way. White was scared and it showed, that's why he got his bell rung against Pittsburgh. Murray is on record saying he'd rather play football then baseball. Personally if I had a choice I would pick the MLB, but that's just me.
If he's available at 13 this April I don't see how you could turn him down. I'll say one thing if it does happen I hope they don't rush him. Both lines still need to be rebuilt. I would see no reason to risk his health unless he is fully up to speed and ready to go.

I like everything about Murry. The size is a legit concern though. Thats scary behind this oline.

BEST Case scenario though is Lawrence becomes a Fin.

Jalen Hunts will go to Oklahoma and be better than Tua and Murray. Trevor is the real deal.
