Nine Quarterbacks Likely Available To Nfl Teams In 2019, And The Teams That Need Them

A quote from Walter Football that has Miami picking Murray with pick thirteen in their early 2019 mock:

“I then thought about it. Who could take Murray in the first round? Well, there's no dumber owner of a bad team in the NFL than Stephen Ross. I'm sure he's smart in real life, but when it comes to managing his football team, Ross has made countless blunders. Ross also loves hype. He constantly invites celebrities no one cares about to games to try to draw a crowd. This would be another instance of Ross trying to draw attention to the Dolphins. He may demand for his next regime to draft Murray because he thinks a 5-foot-9, 190-pound quarterback, who thrived in a conference where zero defense is played, won't get half of his passes batted at the line of scrimmage somehow.”

They see this pick as a reach, to say the least. And Miami dumb enough to do it.

And if Murray goes on to be fantastic? I'm sure they won't say anything along the narratives of "How could the Dolphins needing a QB pass on someone like Murray when he was available @13? How dumb could they be?"

It's a he not a they, and he is well-known for disliking Stephen Ross and taking shots at him wherever possible.

For a more reasonable prediction wait for Charlie Campbell's next mock on that site (he hasn't done one since Murray declared).

5'8" scares me, I don't care how Murray did in college. If anyone thinks Tannehill had way too many batted balls, wait till Murray gets a taste of the NFL. He's got to be able to stay in the pocket and throw and his height is going to be an issue.

He's an intriguing prospect because his arm talent is probably top in the class. He can fit those passes into tight windows. Also, he didn't have the talent at Missouri that some of the other top quarterbacks had. I've seen him compared to Jay Cutler and Carsen Wentz. Somewhere between the two, closer the Wentz, and you've got a pretty good qb.

Another thought on the quarterback class. Can we assume Miami will be running a NE style offense that relies so heavily on quick, precision passes? If so, arm strength isn't as important as decision making, seeing things develop quickly, patience. NE will gladly take those five-yard pass plays and hope the receivers break some tackles. They do it so well that they don't need to challenge down the field that often.

He's not 5'8 according to this tweet:

Keep hearing TV talking heads question the 5-10 height at which we list Kyler. Have heard a couple even say they think he's more like 5-8. Before the season, our strength staff measured him at 5-9 7/8 in socks.

He is too small to play in the NFL. Drew Brees is a freak, drafting an under 5’10” QB thinking he can make it is the same as thinking a sixth rounder can be a Tom Brady. It’s a freak thing. A really stupid bet and waste of a top pick. I don’t want a guy who sells tickets and is fun to watch for four games and then gets busted up and is out of the league. Tyree Jackson has a better chance of being a long term starter than half pint Kyler Murray. He’s not going to survive.

Drew Lock will be the best QB out of this draft class. Will Grier will be the best QB drafted in the later rounds... book it.

Teddy Bridgewater is my choice. Still very young , was really maturing before the injury and he’s a local kid
