Would We Have Made Playoffs With L Jackson

Even if we didn’t make the playoffs in this scenario it would have been a hell of a lot more entertaining watching LJ run the offense than Brock ****ing Osweiller. I have never seen a QB more willing to throw the ball away whenever he had to scramble. Forget the last 3 weeks of the season, he would have helped us in those godawful weeks we were stuck with the Big BO.

Don’t forget Rivers! If he has to change his stance in the pocket and even think about rolling out he throws it away.

EXACTLY! And it gives the fans hope for the future.

No we wouldn't... as has been said our defense isn't comparable to Baltimore.... don't forget the scheme and coach on D... he "may" have improved our running game but... not likely IMO... don't forget about our "OC" (Gase)

From a disgruntled fans eyes (mine)…
Gase gave away, in some fashion, 3 players that were productive (Suh, Landry and AJ) and refused to let go of the play calling. His focus on being the next offensive genius left him isolated from monitoring and coaching his team. He left our defense in the hands of a coach that wasn't getting it done and at some point he didn't even know one of his coaches was snorting coke and playing games with a stripper or hooker or (fill in the blank)….

My dark point is... what if Gase wanted out of Miami.... actually wanted to coach the Jets ( wanted Sam Darnold in the draft)… so, since he had "final say"? on personnel and controlled the offensive play calling all he had to do was let a buffoon run the defense in order to ensure the doom of our team for the season...

Maybe he tanked in order to get out of Miami in a way that wouldn't banish him from the HC ranks ( I mean he could have just quit but how would that look)… Maybe he had a "wink wink" deal going on the entire time....

Conspiracy?... maybe. In his mind he is the smartest guy in the room and his ego has been discussed in this forum by some..... At the beginning of the season there are a few of us that saw potential (on paper) with the team we fielded.... even with the season over it is hard to believe we struggled to look like a professional football team and struggled even more to win games

I believe the players gave everything they had to play ball.... I believe our coach held us back due to either incompetence or it was his grand scheme the entire time

Only reason ravens made the playoffs with Lamar Jackson is because of that #1 overall d.

That’s it.

They know the meal ticket right now

Helps that they ran the ball with serious authority down the stretch but they knew Jackson the passer wasn’t gonna be consistent enough. That’s also why they play called the games on offense like they did. Rely on the d and limit the QBs passing weakness from the pocket exposure as much as possible

So hard to say. Jackson went 5-1 in the regular season with Baltimore, but they have more talent than Miami as well. I do think his ability to escape from the pocket and make big plays by running the ball would have helped negate the Dolphins terrible offensive line a little bit.

i would much rather have Fitzpatrick than a QB who struggles at reading NFL defenses. the Chargers exposed Jackson and unless he vastly improves his recognition ability of what a defense throws at him he is going to take a big step backwards in Year 2.

NO.

Fitzpatrick was a solid pick.

The problem with the Dolphins was COACHING not players.

They lacked discipline, their game plans were consistently bad, the play calling also was consistently bad.

The DC was no good. Too many games he was completely overwhelmed & they had good enough players on defense.

No, he's not a good QB and he would've had to run for 200+ yards for us to be in games.

IMO this is the most overused and tiring argument against Jackson. He isn't the first mobile QB and won't be the last.

The formula to stop scrambling quarterbacks has existed for decades. But if you have a good enough runner at QB it's almost impossible. It's not going to be some voila moment for teams to say "FINALLY, NOW WE KNOW HOW TO STOP A SCRAMBLING QB!"

Jackson is very good at it, and you bet your *** teams this year game planned against that and STILL got beat by it. Unless he sustains a major injury, he'll be a force in the league for a long time.
I like Jackson and think he could have a very productive career....but I sure as heck wouldn't be putting any guarantees on him being a 'force in the league for a long time'. There have been a lot of teams who've played well for an eight game stretch when there was a quarterback change. If it was as simply as a quarterback being a very good runner to become a force in the league for a long time, Tim Tebow would have at least been on a roster past age 25.

No. Jackson stinks as a passer. Ravens making a huge mistake if they dump Flacco for him

True statement: if the Ravrns had to play their last three games over with Jackdon at QB, they likely don't make the playoffs.

I am not all that hype about 2017 classy qb. except Bake mayfield and Jackson still had good rookie yr.
beside Mayfield the rest 2017 qb need learn how pass.

Who cares! It wouldn't lead to long term success IMO. If I'm proven wrong, so be it. I don't care how electric he is, I'll never be excited about a QB who can't pass. I don't care about being entertained. If we had a 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense and won every week I'd be fine with that.
