In Reality This Is Chris Griers First Miami Dolphins Draft

Will be his first draft...

without Gase and TDumb

I wonder who was banging the table for Charles Harris? Grier insists he is a prototype guy but .....

Gareon Conley, Tak McKinley, Tre White, TJ Watt were all sitting there. Ramczyk would look pretty good at RT right about now.

I doubt Gase was calling for a defensive player but I guess we don't know.

This was the same year NOLA drafted Lattimore, Ramczyk, Marcus Williams, Alvin Kamara & Alex Anzalone.

We need a draft like this in 2019.

Not only that but the head of college scouting, and the man who was recognized and rewarded for that amazing draft, was a former Dolphin - Jeff Ireland.

Grier as a player scout has impressed me. He whiffed on a few but he's won his showdowns for guys like Baker

Ireland was always a good scout, the problem was making him GM

Oh I 100% agree! I just think its important to remind yourself "these guys are actually good at certain things" and GM is more than just picking the people. I like using practical examples.

Clearly Grier has had influence over and in the drafts since he has been here. How much of that was him, vs. how much was Gase is hard to say. I assume not much was Tannenbaum since the drafts have been quite poor while he was here. Still, there clearly were differences between Gase’s draft philosophy and Grier’s, as was stated by Ross and Grier when they let Gase go. Even though this is almost assuredly not Grier’s first draft, it will be the first where he is in the spotlight alone.

In just the past three drafts, they've found Ballage, Grant, Taylor, Godchaux and Sanders in those rounds. That's not awful.
Goat - I am writing about a 20 year slide where pickins are thin and those current names are not household around the league

They are only precious to fin fans at this point - but I like the potential but not one is a pending all star

Name the Allstars that we snag on day 3 of the draft over the past decade

It is our turn for Grier to find his nut is all I am saying

An all star in the trenches in day three would be a boon

First and foremost, can Chris Grier rise to the occasion and become
the next great NFL GM? IMO he's off to a pretty respectable start.

#1 job was HC and coaching staff and I think it's fair to say we're
potentially looking at the best staff we've had in decades!

Sure. Right now all potential results are theoretical -- but even a skeptic
should be impressed by the assimilation of PROVEN NFL coaching talent

we've been able to pull together under Grier's direction (albeit with
collaboration for sure with Flores). That my friends speaks directly to

CREDIBILITY and reputation. Simple counter point is --- no way in hello
TBum can pull this type of deal off. Not even close...

In addition, and more in concert with the threads topic -- I think some peeps
are missing a huge upgrade for our personnel/scouting department -- Marvin Allen.

Chemistry matters -- and we could hit gold with Allen and Grier, and Grier's
reorg of the org. So yea, give the man a chance to make a statement and

maybe we've finally turned the corner. If not -- oh well...

Keep an eye on Vincent Taylor.

Best I can say about Grier is blank slate. Let’s see what happens from here.
Flores his choice.
The QB will be his choice.

No more of this hocus/ pocus front office nonsense. “No that was his draft but he was the GM but no he made the pick but no not that one that was the HC”

I think Grier and Flores will work well together.

Especially excited because Tannenbaum is out of the picture.
Bingo!! Me too...still don't understand his role anymore other than taking a paycheck but the fact he isn't making personnel decisions had me do a backflip, and I can't do backflips anymore...turned 40 and now something pulls every time LOL
