Are we getting Capers?
If Shula was hired today you would predict 2 wins. Means nothing what you or I predict.
I don't really understand what so many people refer to as "tanking". What EXACTLY does it mean? My thinking is that the coaches and players will be doing their best to win every game. I am seriously hoping for an explanation.I'm with that train. Although, I'd point to year 4 rather than year 3 as the determinative year. My reasoning is that we are planning to tank, which is what a 3 win season would be, tanking. So that is a means to an end, with the end being an elite prospect at QB. Year 4 would represent 3 years of the Flores rebuild after the planned tanking for a QB.

Well yes and no. Whether tanking works or not is a different story, but here's the skinny on tanking.I don't really understand what so many people refer to as "tanking". What EXACTLY does it mean? My take is:
1. No big $ FAs
2. Purposely rolling with a sub par/ backup quality QB.
3. Cutting bad contracts to create future cap space.
Those things are all the domain of a GM.
Coaches, and players try to win regardless of the situation.
Tanking, which doesn't exist, means rooting every time something goes wrong in a game.
Can you tank riders honestly root every time we throw an int, fumble, get scored on? That's how you plan on spending your Sundays?
I get gut-wrenching chills just thinking about it. Is that not one of Dante's circles of hell?
It goes rooting for that Pats for eternity, rooting against our team for an eternity?
So very sad to admit this, but......, hold on, I can do this........I am a Phoenix Suns fan. Yes, if you really love your team and no other, you can be happy when they lose, and lose, and lose, and lose ,and lose. I feel sick.
Like the saying goes, "It's not where you pick, it's who you pick".Just to put things in prospective, I dont think tanking to get a 1st round QB is some sure short avenue to a superbowl. If that is our goal :)
Here's why I think tanking for a QB is a stupid idea!!!! Here are the qbs who were not drafted in the first round who won championships. You dont need a 1st round QB to win a championship, so why tank. If one falls to us in the 1st pick him. But why waste a full season for a qb and earlier picks. Why waste a year when there are no guarantees. It is a foolish ideas.
Tom Brady (6th round)
Russell Wilson (3rd round)
Drew Brees (2nd round)
Brad Johnson (9th round?)
Kurt Warner (undrafted)
Brett Farve (2nd round)
Steve Young (supplemental Draft)
Joe Montana (3rd round)
Joe Thiesman (4th round)
And the list goes on....

Not supposedly, historically, and that goes for every position, not including ST.That's an impressive list and a compeling stance.
If you really want a guy at the top, you take him and let the chips fall where they may. Everyone is a who knows.
The best odds are supposedly at the top.
