I'm on the fence. Unsure what he is going to look like in the pros. I will say though, if he is sitting there at #13 and I hear his name called for the Fins pick...I would be pretty excited to see how it plays out. I'd ride the optimism train.

Why draft him at 13? Just say NO.

This team needs so many players across the board staring with both lines. Draft murray and guess what happens? Team is sucking by week 7 and the staff has pressure to get murray starting. He comes in and fails. Then what.

Build the team right. Be patient.

I just don’t see us picking him ...wrong prototypical specs for a QB of the parcels coaching tree.

My question is the following: Would Brady, Elway, Marino, Aikman, etc succeed with our recent past offensive lines? If we Draft Murray who has potential without rebuilding a line I think we waste a draft and player.
Not a fair comparison. Those are all normal sized quarterbacks.

I’m on the fence. His talent is obvious, no question.

When you commit to him, you commit to a less traditional style so I think a lot of us are uneasy about that.

A lot of roll outs, a lot of broken plays turned big pluses or negatives.

I’m ok with getting on talent. Pat White was a nobody. This kid is next level talented.

This has another Lamar Jackson-esque scenario waiting to happen feel to it. I would hate for us to pass up yet another heisman winning QB 2 years in a row.

I think Kyler is the safest QB pick of this class.

This guy is in that special Russell Wilson mold of guys, a 2 way athlete, leader of men.

If Kyler is there you pull the trigger. If Haskins or Lock are there... YOU PULL THE TRIGGER!!

Interesting to hear Pat Kirwan on Sirius NFL radio yesterday. He said he wanted to watch more games of him but from what he's seen, he rates Kyler Murray #4 QB in the Draft (behind Haskins from Ohio State, Jones from Duke and Locke. Pat sounded fixated on Kyler's shortness in height and his slight build. What surprised me was how much he really likes Jones - (some of his throws reminded him of Peyton Manning).

Absolutely!

I hope Murray falls to 13 and then we trade back for more picks.

I actually think he'll slide to 13, it's up to our new staff to see if he's worth the risk.

Edit:

Here's my thinking and I'm sure other teams probably feel this way.

Take a chance with Murray if he's there at 13 and use 2020 to fall back on if he flops.
Murray go need more than one yr. to show what he can do. all 2018 qb need more than one yr.

I’ve got Murray going to the Raiders at 4. Peter King reported Gruden loves Murray.

Murray, Drake, Grant, Wilson and Ballage: the things you could do with that kind of speed. No Fool’s gold for me. I’m in but it’s not happening.

Crazy if Miami covets him and doesn’t trade up and down right insane if he slides to 13 and they pass/trade down.

I mean we drafted a QB 7 drafts ago . . . .that means we spent 7 drafts trying to do what you guys are stating we should do now

This all comes down once again to believing Tannehill would of had success if we built better pieces around him instead of realizing that the QB position has been one of the biggest hinderences the team has had over the last 7 years.

If anything, Kyler Murray on the surface, is the “ideal” QB to have behind center until you are able to build around him as his mobility and ability to improvise will help in the areas where we have struggled over the years.

You will be surprised when you have an OLine that struggles, the confidence a struggling group can get when they have a QB behind center that can make plays in the face of their lapses.

Miami has an entire draft to build up the team . . . .there is not one position that can/will have the impact on this team than Kyler Murray would have at 13.

He honestly could be a better fit than Tua for this team . . . .and I would love Tua in 2020, but Kyler could be very special in this transistioning NFL where being able to improvise behind center has vaulted to the top of required abilities of any QB entering this league.

Kyler is as elite and explosive as anybody we have seen as a QB prospect and kid adds accuracy and arm strength to that package.

We can only hope to be so lucky to hear his name called in two months.

I would love to see him sitting there at #13. I think we pull the trigger and make him a Miami Dolphin. To finally have a true elite talent at the QB position would be outstanding. If we do pick Murray we must build our offense around his talents and total skill set.

The big problem with drafting Tannehill is that we didn’t draft another QB for 7 years after. We never brought in any competition. I feel that the same thing will happen if we draft Murray. We will miss out on the 2020 QB draft. Another issue I have with Murray is that he is a product of a system. I highly doubt he is successful outside of Lincoln Riley‘s system. When playing Bama, Murray looked lost when Bama shut their system and gimmick plays down. People say “well that because it’s Bama”. Here is the problem, Murray is going to face 16 defenses every year that are all better than Bama and faster. Sure, Murray would be fun to watch but very few predominantly run QBs have won a super bowl or had long term NFL careers.

However, I won’t be completely mad if we draft him at 13. We have wasted so many 1st round picks that I am use to it. However, trading up would be a complete mistake.

I'm more worried about his build than height, he has already shown he can work around 6-5 lineman but NFL defenders are much different than he's used to.
