Who Are Your Top Choices For 2019 Qb?

Go Murray if you believe in him.

If not, just go with Osweiler. No need to spend money on a placeholder qb.
Come on! Ain't nobody want to see Osweiler for 16 games

Murray

Then the worst QB I can find...whats EJ Manuel doing these days?

For me, Murray would at least show some different thinking with in the organization, but I would much prefer to put my eggs in the Tua basket for next season.

One interesting thought that impacts the quarterback position....what type of quarterback do you think Flores and company are looking for to run their offense? Are they looking to run an offense similar to what New England does, good running game, short, precision passing attack, TE focused? Or are they open to other possibilities?

I'm not a huge fan of Daniel Jones, but I think he could run a NE attack. Miami likely wouldn't have to trade up to get him either, although things can change in a hurry come combine time, interviews etc. Ryan Finley is a mid-rounder who might also fit this style of offense.

If Flores is open to possibilities, I still like Murray followed by Haskins. Lock is interesting, but potentially an odd fit.
If you want to go short precision passing attack I think Falks your guy. Great competition percentage in collage. Could be a sleeper. I saw him play USC in 2017 and he looked like the top notch QB while Darnald looked like the 6th rounder

Been a while since I've seen Video on him, but isn't his arm strength questionable, at best? Not able to throw intermediate out routes?

Hard to run this type of offense if the D only has to play 3/4 of the field.

Some guys make it work, though.
Pennington didn't have much of an arm. If he had, he would have probably been considered "elite".

His arm strength was probably the biggest knock on him coming out. I'm not really sure how it compares to the arm strength of other successful quarterback with weaker arms like Brees and Brady or an older Manning. Yea I know how dare I use Falk and these guys in the same sentence.

You do know Lawrence plays on a loaded team as well? Or are you just grasping at straws because you prefer Lawrence?

He’s a freshman... and he crushed Tua... no comparison which one I’d rather have.

Tua is a good prospect... I just don’t see him as great.

Maybe because he threw 43 TDs and 6 ints in the toughest conference in football while only playing 3 quarters in 75% of those games. I wouldn't dismiss Tua because he threw for just 295 yards and 2 TDs in the national title game haha

How many Bama quarterbacks off Saban’s championship teams have succeeded in the NFL?

Not hard to put numbers up when your team’s talent almost always grossly outmatches your opponent...I think he’s good... but not an extremely special prospect...Trevor Lawrence is!

Tua was a freshman as well when he won the championship for Bama. I’m not downplaying Lawrence, that kid is going to be special as well. But Tua is an excellent prospect as well in his own right.

The talent on both Clemson and Bama cater to the young kids playing for them.

The worse veteran the players could get behind and not think there tanking
Why? So you and many others here I see want a complete Tank but for who? People want to waiste a full season to get what they hope will be a top prospect at QB right? Is it Tua? Fromm? These guys aren't an Andrew Luck kind of prospects. Here's another thing what if they decide to stay in school and not declare? They do play for championship caliber teams so it's not impossible

I don’t understand what past QBS have to do with Tua? There is no correlation between the humans.

Evaluations are done in isolation.

The whole "Bama Qbs have never succeeded in the NFL" holds zero weight with anyone. Lot of Texas Tech QBs playing in the league before Mahomes? Stanford QBs before Luck? Miami of Ohio QBs before Big Ben?

Now if he was playing in an air raid type offense then you could MAYBE make an argument but Mahomes came from that throwing damn near 70 times in certain games.

For me there are two trains of thought.

A. Draft Murray if he is available at 13 (not likely). For the next QB, I want a guy with great pocket presence and Murray has that improv gene. Then my plan would involve less tear down of the roster. I keep Josh Sitton and bring in one of the top guards and resign James if possible. I would be a little more active in the FA market as long as I am spending on sub 28 year old players with proven production. No more acquisitions with expectations that a guy be something he has never been before. I would also take a look at centers in round 2.

B. Skip QB if my guy is not there at 13. Bring in a cheap veteran like Fitzpatrick to hold down the fort (or not). More tear down and salary purges. Purge the roster of Tannenbaum contracts. Draft a top DLmen in round 1. Build the trenches to prep for a rookie QB next year. I would also take a shot on a mid-round QB if one I like falls to me.

Fitzpatrick is good for 4 wins and we can’t have that.
