Report: Mike Tannenbaum Will Soon Be A Former Miami Dolphin Exec

Well no thats not a fact Khalil Mack has led the NFL is pressures from 15-16.

In 2016 Mario, Andre, and Jones combined for 10.5 sacks and 91 pressures while Vernon had 8.5 sacks and 86 pressures so again not a fact.

In 2017 Andre and Harris and Hayes combined for 7.5 sacks and 82 pressures while Vernon had 6.5 sacks and 38 pressures so again not a fact.

In 2018 Quinn, Andre, and Harris combined for 9 sacks and 82 pressures while Vernon had 7 sacks and 46 pressures so again not a fact.

I'm not sure what your point is with saying he's getting paid more on a yearly basis and bringing up guaranteed money.

The tag isn't some magical tool to make players more likely to sign long term or lower their demands. Le'Veon Bell just sat out an entire year because he refused to play for the tag. The Redskins tagged Kirk Cousins what like 2-3 years in a row and eventually let him go. Players may not like the tag but that doesn't mean they'll go ahead and sign for less than what they want. I'm not sure what you mean by Cox at the time of his contract it made him the 2nd highest paid DT in the NFL after Suh and 4th highest paid defensive player in the NFL. Looks like the threat of the franchise tag wasn't that effective.

OK so he had the most pressures as a RE from 15-16, point being that would have been a steal for simply one year on the franchise tag since he signed for a higher AAV than the tag would have even cost.

In '16 (main year I'm focused on) we could have easily afforded Jones and Andre even with tagging OV (they were cheap), Mario was more than half the cost of Vernon with practically NO production.

The facts show Vernon was a significantly better value one the tag than was the decision to sign Mario.

You may say it was a logical move, but imo you do everything you can to keep your best players and OV was certainly one of them.

Honestly I would have kept OV and traded Wake if I had that option as a GM, I'm that high on OV because of what he brings to the table in terms of his overall game and age.

He may be overpaid, but he's an excellent football player, we now have 0 outside of old man Wake at DE (big problem).

His cap number for this coming season is over 17mill.......that's crazy for a SS that's missed so many games. If we let him go the dead money is over 23mill. You don't build a winner but giving that type of money to a SS. That's QB or big time pass rusher.

I agree that's a lot for a Safety that has missed the games he has, but there's no way to project injuries. The contract gave us cap relief the past couple of years; I'm assuming it was structured this way because of the Suh contract. Jones earned his contract, but I do agree the structure of the money isn't beneficial for the team now.

I read this thread while taking a crap. Wiped, flushed, and washed my hands. Because good hygiene prevents sickness. I suggest the rest of you do the same thing, then after that never visit this cesspool of a thread again.

But I can’t help myself from reading through TanDaMan’s posts and superphin’s lol

He got the jets to back to back afc championship games. Saying he is a failure is a little much.

He was also saddled with a loser qb and a loser coach in Miami.

Our oline and dline are softer than baby **** after him being here for 5 years. He's a failure here. Thats all I care about.

I won because I got the last word LOL, just miss having a good Dline is all.

People gave Ireland a lot of s*** and much of it was justified, but we were never soft like we are now with starks, soliai, odrick, OV, and Wake around.

Now we practically have nothing up front but some nice cheap young DTs, but not like Mr. “I don’t put anything bad on tape” Starks...

not quite how it works..... but yeah not only do I miss having a good DL, I miss even an average defense

Just making a joke, but I do believe this team misses OV more than most realize (was surprised to find these PFF grades but doesn't shock me at all).

Gee I wonder if we could use a good 28 year old defensive end right about now...

Dear Administrator,
Please remove this thread.

The only part of this that makes me smile, is the unceremonious departure that Jets tick turd deserved.

If you only focus on the bad stuff. Didn’t resign Andrew franks for Cody parley. Didn’t resign Cody parkey for Jason sanders. Didn’t pay for Jarvis Landry. Didn’t resign Olivier Vernon.

If you want to blame him for cutler and Julius Thomas even though they both had gase all over them. Trading Ajayi was bad but that was also gase.

I’m not shedding and tears because he is gone but to blame everything on him is silly.

Ignoring the fact that he did the exact thing most of us said this dumbass would do from the start, give out overpriced contracts to veterans and leave the team in SHAMBLES for the near future after he left????? THE. EXACT. THING. WE. KNEW. WOULD. HAPPEN.

GEE I WONDER WHY WE HATE HIM. DEFINITELY OVERBLOWN. IT'S ONLY HALF A DECADE WORTH OF **** FOOTBALL WE HAVE TO SIT THROUGH THANKS TO HIM!
