Would You Be A Nfl Fan If No Dolphins?

Nope. Don't have time with all these kids running around. The Dolphins are my crack and I'm addicted, otherwise I'd be long gone. They are the only team i will watch a whole season of garbage and still pay to watch more. On a side note, i was looking for a favorite team for the new league. Orlando? I'm midwest and i don't feel like they put a team here...

I think football can be pretty boring, so probably not.

Now if there were no dolphins AND no commercials I could probably get down with it.

Good question. As I’ve gotten older I care about the NFL way less. I def wouldn’t buy Sunday ticket. I’ve gotten in to soccer especially the English Premier League. Fun to watch a sport that flows without stopping for something after every damn play

I am barely an NFL fan now...

I watch maybe 6 - 10 hours of college football a weekend and I watch 1 NFL game every three weeks or so.

I watch more and more soccer each year.

I would cancel my Sunday ticket if the Dolphins folded and watch the odd NFL game, nowhere near the time I commit now. Would stick with my CFL and NHL though (penguins fan in hockey so their success has helped with the miami struggles)

No.

I’ve been a Dolphins guy for 43 years. Inherited from my father.

I love the game (well, not what it has morphed into). But I love my Dolphins.

More precisely, I love the memories of when we were great.

If the team folded, so would I. I do not have a true “back up team” that makes the playoffs when we don’t. Nor do I want one.

I may be the only Dolphins guy around 50 that believes he will see us win a Super Bowl before he cashes in.

I think so. I was young, from the UK, and needed an answer to the common question among elementary school boys "What's your favorite football team". When Dan Marino showed up on Good Morning America after kicking some arse against Chicago in '85, I simply was given the information I needed to make an informed decision!

Edit: I see alot of folks are answering the scenario if Dolphins ceased to exist at this point. I don't think i could regain that fire about another team - I certainly wouldn't watch as much football - at first at least. Right now i'm kinda hell bent on motorsport so I would have plenty to watch until about December.

Yes but my football life would suck more than it does now. I would cry and through temper tantrums and I'll probably never get over it. Nothing like a Saturday night knowing we got a game tomorrow. I hate the bye wk cause I know we're not playing and I hate playoff time cause I know we're not there. but I still watch

I'd still be a fan and I'd still watch every Sunday. Pittsburgh was always a team I've liked for 40+ yrs, and I'd have no problem rooting for them.

This is actually a great thread. If the phins moved, I would still be a NFL fan. Depending on where the phins moved and if there was a name change would determine if I was still a fan of them.

I think I'd turn into an Eagles or Bucs fan if I changed fandom.

I live in Dallas/Fort worth but would never root for the Cowboys

Absolutely.

Basketball for now is trash with GSW being so dominant. I’m more excited about NBA offseason than the actual season at this point. Never been a baseball fan. I do watch international soccer regularly, but it’s still not a comparison to NFL.

NFL is king.

As a Suns fan, I agree. I think the Suns got jobbed in 2009, I think it was, and that's left me bitter and suspicious. Now we're one of the worst in the league and I really don't watch other teams.

reccons id prob suck it up and start pulling for the panthers, but it wouldn't be one of those things where I joined one of their forums, cared about them every day during the offseason, got eager for free agents, trades, drafts... they'd just be the team I watched while grilling out on sundays
