Would You Be A Nfl Fan If No Dolphins?

Honestly.....probably not. I’m from Michigan and my parents weren’t really into the NFL (mostly college and mostly Michigan State and UM) and I hadn’t really paid much attention as a kid. But the week I was turning 6 years old my parents were going through the attic of a house we hadn’t lived in long and found an aquamarine Dolphins jersey that fit me. I was enamored with the colors and instantly fell in love with the jersey. That week also happened to be the week Miami was playing in the conference finals during Marino’s magical ‘84 season, so my parents let me watch the game. Watching Dan the Man sling the ball around got me completely hooked and life hasn’t never been the same. I was a Dolphins fan for life after that, and I was so passionate about it that all of my younger siblings as well as my childhood best friend became diehard Dolphins fans as well. Basically I started a legacy of Dolphins fans in rural mid Michigan that still lives on to this day, and it all started with the discovery of one random jersey. If not for that serendipitous day I may not have ever even gotten into football.

I think the older you get the more cynical you become about sports, and certainly in the last 20 years with globalisation to the fore sports has become a business, period!

Boxing, soccer, NFL, most sports that involve big money are crooked. When you are younger you cannot see it, but unfortunately the wiser you become you can see through the smoke screens.

Ageing sucks

Sure. I'd be a Packers fan

I want to party with you cowboy.

I'd never be able to enjoy the game the same... ever.

Guess I'd have to root for one of the hometown teams, Jags or Bucs. :bang:

I’m barely an NFL fan WITH THE DOLPHINS.

Ok slight exaggeration. But only slight.

Not a chance. It's become hard to watch as it is. I watch more and more college football every year. Think I even missed a game last season. I don't remember because it all bleeds together and coagulates into irrelevance. I also can't remember the last one I missed before that.

Good question. As I’ve gotten older I care about the NFL way less. I def wouldn’t buy Sunday ticket. I’ve gotten in to soccer especially the English Premier League. Fun to watch a sport that flows without stopping for something after every damn play
The opposite for me. Watch loads of NFL, Pretty much stopped watching any round ball football apart from the team I've been supporting all my life. The top 6 bias in the Premier League is massively annoying, the big teams keep getting richer, no parity what so ever (my team played Man City the other month and their 7 subs cost way over £100million more than our 25 man squad). One of the things I like so much about your football, all about making it as even as possible. Just need someone to tell the Patriots that!

A London team is a dreadful idea
Agree. Might sell out every game but literally no one is giving up the team they follow to support them. I'd hope the Dolphins embarrass England if we ever played them. Plus many more reasons...

I hear you but Champions League is awesome. Also there hasn’t been a repeat champ in the EPL in forever and Leicester won it a couple of years ago out of nowhere. Also like you said the Patriots have been as dominate as any team across any sport for the past what 18 years? Golden State is the same in basketball.

Other than the Dolphins being horrible the game play in the NFL with a ridiculous amount of penalties and replays gets exhausting. I’m still watching, just a bit disenchanted at this point

I would be very disappointed if the Dolphins moved to London or something. But I would still love football. My second favorite team is the Oakland Raiders … and it's disappointing to see them leaving for Las Vegas, so I don't know what I'd do if there weren't a Miami Dolphins. But, I would probably pick a new team (not the Patriots) and try to become a fan of them.

Absolutely.

Basketball for now is trash with GSW being so dominant. I’m more excited about NBA offseason than the actual season at this point. Never been a baseball fan. I do watch international soccer regularly, but it’s still not a comparison to NFL.

NFL is king.

Hey Are you Persian by any chance? Your username sounds like it lol
