Just wanted to see what other Dolphins fans thoughts were. It's been tough being a Dolphins fan the past 20 years, but I've stuck with them.

This past year though, I lost a lot of interest in the NFL, not because of the Dolphins, but how the league is ruining the game. I don't disagree with trying to protect the players, but the steps they have taken are completely hurting the game and the only player it seems to protect are the quarterback. If a player even grazes Brady with his pinky it draws a foul. Not like that wasn't the case before, but this past year it went to the ultimate extreme. The roughing the passer rule change was a complete joke - William Hayes got hurt trying to sack the quarterback and avoid getting a penalty.

With all the penalties called this year, one of the most blatant pass interference calls was not called. This costed the Saints a trip to the Superbowl. I'm not a Saints fan, but it's tough to see a team not make it after a blatancy obvious missed call.

I could go on and on, but I'm sure you got the point. I know it's time to move on, but it's becoming increasingly more difficult to watch. The quality of the game is not what it used to be.

Been losing more and more interest over the past several years. I can't stop watching, but I seem to not get as angry after a loss like I used to back in the day. Sad, but true.

Can’t lie it was super easy being a Dolphins fan until 2004. Dave Wannestedt being a douchenozzle by overworking Ricky Williams into retirement hit us like a sledgehammer. All of a sudden him being incompetent for four years overwhelmed the stellar foundation Jimmy Johnson left him with.

It’s been tough. Family feels sorry, friends poke fun, fans at opposing stadiums ask “why are you so excited about a long snapper?” Being constantly mediocre has been our calling card for half my life. It sucks but I’ve embraced it.

I still buy new gear, watch every game, and travel to see at least one road game a season. I’m in for the long haul, no matter how many incompetent front offices, inept head coaches and QBs not named Marino it takes.

As opposed to you, I've lost a lot of interest in the NFL as a result of the Dolphins. For me sports is about having a rooting interest and when your favorite team is non-competitive for so long,
well . . . .

Relative to my peak interest -- say '84 '85 rated at 100%, I'd rate my interest now at 20-25%.

Truth is I didn't watch a minute of the SB -- and don't think I watched a complete game all year.

The game is always changing and evolving. Sure, it's not the same game that I grew up watching in the 70s, but I bet some of the guys who grew up watching the game in the 40s were complaining about things like losing the leather helmets and the introduction of the facemask and the forward pass et al. There are rule changes I don't like, but on the other hand, I'm glad they did away with things like stickum and horse collar tackles. The game will never be regulated to the point of making it the equivalent of flag football. It's still a game played by very large world-class athletes hitting each other at full speed play after play, week after week. Anyone who seriously thinks the game is too soft has not tried to block Cameron Wake or tackle Kenyan Drake one-on-one.

I’m cancelling Sunday ticket this year for the first time since they basically invented it. No more merch either I have plenty and still don’t like the new logo. Didn’t go to a live game last year for the first time in a long time. The previous year I went to 3! My main contribution to the Phins this year will be donating here cuz I love this site. It’s still #FinsIp but there’s gotta be some type of “consequence” from the long time fans for becoming one of the worst franchises in the league, year in and year out.

Compared to when we were led by Don Shula and Dan Marino, winning the division almost every year, going to the playoffs regularly, scoring a bazillion points and never out of a game! Compared to when we were the winningest team in US Sports? Yes!

But that doesn't mean that I don't still love the Miami Dolphins. I'm hoping to return to glory like that … and looking at the ages of Belichick and Brady, our window should be opening "soon" …. whenever that is.

Absolutely. I think anyone who is a fan of sports want to see sports played at a high level. And the reality is, I still enjoy watching football as much as ever, but prefer seeing it played well. And that usually doesn’t involve the Dolphins.

I have not, it’s become a quest for me..The offseason is just as important and fun, because it’s where my Hope lives, I always hope we find the right head coach and personnel men to build a dynasty, same passion since I was a kid at the orange bowl.

Growing up and in high school and in my early twenties Miami Dolphins football was my life. When they would win it would make my week and I would always be excited about the following sunday and hate when there was a bye week. When they lost it would ruin the rest of my day until at least the following Tuesday. But now unlike for a long time I could never wait until sunday now when it is sunday I am just think whatever I still enjoy the Miami Dolphins and the NFL and when they win (which is rarely) I enjoy the rest of my day and will watch the highlights on YouTube and when they lose (which is alot) I am over it as soon as the game is over.
