"Throw out the tank idea. If the Dolphins lose enough games to warrant the first pick in the draft, then Miami has a Head Coach problem. The list of Head Coaches to survive catastrophic seasons is small, and the list of coaches to survive and then turn things around is even smaller. It hasn’t been done since Jimmy Johnson last did it in the early-90’s."

This is exactly my thoughts on tanking.

This team is looking like an expansion team, but I suppose it is the only way to retool the talent to fit the new coaches and staff.

I disagree. I think they players that will get purged are largely veterans that didn't really contribute to begin with. The best players on the roster in 2019 are going to be guys with bright futures. The only reason the Dolphins are going to suck is because they just don't have a quarterback.

In case you're not a sadistic shut in like myself and didn't digest the entire combine, here's a cliff's notes version as viewed through a Dolphins lens. Confirmed visits, desirable traits and players at each position, and a prediction for the QB that Flores eventually becomes attached to.

Great read and thanks for posting. Of the players you named my surprise would be Jackson. Good QB's that tall are hard to find thru history and he's not very accurate so I'm not big on him but everyone else I can see it.
Can't wait for the one you'll do about the defense.

Thanks man good read. Listen to locked on almost daily. You mention Murray likely going to Ari at 1 but I saw nothing on Rosen as a candidate for us. What are your thoughts and what are you willing to give up for him ? Or would you just pass on him

A legit concern for sure, but I'm okay dealing with that on day-three. But you definitely run the risk of having go newborn giraffe on you like Brock Osweiler, maybe not as much in the athletic department, but in the sense that he doesn't have complete control of his faculties. A lot of moving parts - windmill-esque.

But my god can he rip it.

I've accepted that Murray isn't going to happy. :( Sad day.

Yeah I just wasn't a fan of Rosen and a big part of it is the stuff we really don't get to see. Grier and Flores talk so much about the intangibles and likability of a guy, and Rosen is not that AT ALL. That, and the fact that I think he's a poor decision maker on the field and entirely stationary in a league that is requiring quarterbacks to either A.) Be PERFECT in the processing aspect or, B.) Create plays outside the framework of the offense.

Rosen is neither of those.

To give you an idea of the A category, I think Haskins is closest to that in this year's class. Fromm and Tua are big time check marks in that box next year.

That's a total damned if you do, damned if you don't outlook.

I'd be ecstatic if we somehow lost enough games to get the 1st pick. Why not? We'd get Tua and be set.

Flores' career shouldn't be dead upon arrival if he wins sub 5 games next year. Who the **** are we going to have at QB next year? And they've already set their expectations?

I’d venture to say Flores would want Fromm over Tua if they are both available.

That's great be ecstatic trying to go 2-14 or 3-13 and good luck.

They've set your expectations not mine.

I honestly wouldn’t mind Jake Fromm behind center in a Dolphins uni. If no Tua, Fromm would be my choice.

Great write-up. Wonder how far Miami would have to move up for Haskins and if that is even a consideration.

Love Murray, but I'm also very high on Haskins. If the Dolphins don't get either, I agree on drafting a mid-rounder and waiting until 2020.

Sweat would be a nice choice at #13 if he gets there.
